Installation charges are a fee customers pay to have a service professionally installed in their premises. They are meant to cover the costs of labour, materials and other costs associated with network enhancements. This can also apply to changes, repairs or upgrades to existing services. The true cost to perform these services is well above what TELUS asks its customers to pay, and often these fees can be avoided by purchasing your TELUS services online.
This is a one-time fee that applies to new internet activations. The Activation charge is a fee that covers the cost of the back-end services to get your internet service up and running.
Both TELUS and our customers share responsibility for maintenance and repair of different wiring. Anything leading up to your premises is the responsibility of TELUS, whereas anything inside your premises (including inside the walls) is the customer’s responsibility. If work is required on your inside wiring, either to repair it or to make changes to it, and you choose to have TELUS do this work, standard labour and material costs rates apply. New service installation comes with a limited amount of inside wiring work included.
Lost equipment and service fees
If you cease your services with TELUS, any rented equipment must be returned to TELUS within a reasonable time. If it is not returned, the customer is charged for the lost equipment up to the retail value of each piece of equipment that was not returned. Service fees are cost-offsetting charges resulting from administrative processing, including late payment charges, reconnection fees, shipping charges.
One time payment processing fee
Most account changes and payments can be made online at
telus.com/MyTelus
or on the My TELUS app. Should an agent complete an account change or process a payment on your behalf, a service fee may apply.
