Set up personalized notifications & alerts
Your TELUS SmartHome Security system makes it easy to set up alerts letting you know when a user accesses your home. These can be set up in several ways – always know when your kids are home safely from school, or ensure your dog-walker has arrived on time. Additionally, you can create no-show alerts. These are ideal for regular service providers like landscapers or cleaners. Get notified when they arrive and when they leave, as well as one if they fail to arrive.
There are several other types of alerts you can create for smart access control, including Geo-Services alerts which lets you know if you've left home without arming your security system, or locking your doors. When you receive one, you can simply secure your home remotely through your TELUS SmartHome mobile app.
Set a new notification:
- Log in to your TELUS SmartHome account and go to the Notifications tab
- Select the New notification button
- Choose your notification type, and choose from a wide range of pre-customized reminders
- Set your notification time preferences
- Set your notification days and add recipients
- Save your notification
Grant access to family and visitors with unique user access codes
Your TELUS SmartHome Security system allows you to grant unique user codes to disarm your panel for family and trusted guests. These codes securely allow your visitors the freedom to come and go without sacrificing security or control. Each code is unique and works only during the times you assign. For example, the dog walker can come and go during weekdays between 12pm and 2pm. On the other hand, your long time, trusted neighbour can get access to your home anytime in case there's an emergency. You can also create user codes which expire, perfect for those weekend-only houseguests.
You can create new users and access codes on the mobile app and SmartHome web portal.
Managing access to the app
You can create additional logins for your family, friends, babysitter etc. to allow them to access your account through the website or mobile app. You control the access restrictions and permissions for each authorized user.

- Go to the Users section and select the Manage logins tab, then select Add a login

False alarms
Our central monitoring station’s mission is to respond quickly to all alarm signals. It may happen that you are not home or that you are unable to answer an alarm verification call from us. If we are unable to reach you when an alarm is triggered, and you want to let us know that it was a false alarm, please call 1-833-339-2288.
Creating unique user codes
The TELUS SmartHome Security system offers two main advantages: security and convenience. You, your family and visitors you trust can now easily come and go without compromising the security of your home or your peace of mind.
Using a combination of advanced access control features, the TELUS SmartHome Security system allows you to easily monitor who’s going into and out of your home, so you always know what’s going on in your residence and at the controlled points of entry.
For example, you can control your garage doors and door locks, and check whether doors and windows are open. Receive alerts and reminders about what’s happening at home with your TELUS SmartHome Security mobile app. Receive an alert when you leave the house without locking the door, and easily fix the problem by locking it and arming your security system remotely from the app. Refer to the section on “Managing notifications and custom alerts” for more details on setting up notifications.
