Information about the network update on photo and video messaging and browsing for TELUS Prepaid.
With the evolution of technology, the legacy Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and browsing platform supporting devices released before 2017 have reached their end of life. As we are working on platform upgrades, the legacy platform will no longer be supported starting in the summer of 2023.
Please read further to learn how this will affect your services.
Devices launched after 2017 and sold by TELUS will not be affected. All current service features and functionalities will be carried over and supported on the new platforms.
Certain devices launched before 2017 will no longer be compatible with the new platform. Please see below for the list of TELUS sold devices that will be affected by the service update.
To continue MMS and/or browsing services, we recommend you to check out our latest devices and purchase a new device today.
If your device is listed below, you will no longer be able to send or receive multimedia messages starting summer 2023. You can find your phone's model details and number in your device
