This offer does not apply to customers who are not owners of the residence or subject to a bailment agreement.
This offer is only available to residential customers who are not currently enrolled in Hydro-Québec's Hilo program.
Hydro Westmount customers are not eligible, as they are not Hydro-Québec customers.
Customers on regular Hydro-Québec Rate D, Flex D or winter credit option can have access to the offer.
Available to residential customers who have not subscribed to TELUS SmartEnergy in the last 24 months.
Customers who already have Sinopé and/or Sensi Lite thermostats can have access to the offer. The $12/mo discount will only apply to the SmartEnergy subscription for 24 months.
The maximum value of the hardware credit provided for this offer is $1,125. The electrician will determine the appropriate combination of 3000W and 4000W thermostats during installation up to this maximum value (for example: 5 Sinopé 3000W thermostats and 1 Sinopé 4000W thermostat).
For this offer, you can only select one type of thermostat (central heating or electric baseboards), either Sinopé or Sensi Lite.
For customers with electric baseboard heating, the offer includes the rental of up to 9 Sinopé 3000W thermostats or 8 Sinopé 4000W thermostats, or a combination of both determined by the electrician during installation, at no additional cost (equivalent value of $1,125). For customers with central heating, the offer includes the rental of up to 2 Sensi Lite thermostats at no additional cost (equivalent value of $258).
You'll enjoy the full 24 months at the discounted rate, then seamlessly transition to our standard $12/mo on a flexible month-to-month basis.
Enjoy great flexibility with the ability to modify or cancel your subscription at any time, at no cost. Many customers find that the savings make continuing worthwhile. After your two-year promotional period, you have no renewal obligation.
Upon your subscription a TELUS agent will book one of our certified electrician partners who will install the thermostats at no cost.
All thermostats rented via this offer will be shipped by mail and must be installed and paired in the TELUS SmartHome+ application by a certified electrician whose installation appointment is coordinated by TELUS.
If you cancel prior to installation or if the thermostats have not been installed and paired in the application by the electrician, the thermostats must be returned to TELUS.
Energy savings events are a great way to help reduce your energy consumption while earning TELUS Rewards along the way.
TELUS Rewards can be used to redeem for great discounts and savings from top brands or even help TELUS plant more trees.
During events, your smart thermostat temperature will lower for the length of the event. After the event, the temperature will return to your previous set point. If there are devices that you would prefer not to participate in an event, you can manage to opt in within the app.
TELUS allows you to decline up to 10 events TELUS Energy Saving Events during winter peak period. Events you refuse or opt out from do not qualify you for TELUS Rewards points.

TELUS Energy Saving Events will take place in cold weather during Hydro-Québec winter peak periods, between December 1 and March 31. They run from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. or from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., or both and can be any day of the week. Customers will receive a notification in the application up to 12hours before the event starts.
There may be up to 30 events during this period. TELUS will notify you through the TELUS SmartHome+ application the day before each TELUS Energy Event. Participation in TELUS SmartEnergy Events is mandatory and you should participate in as many events as possible.
Points will be added to your account within 10 business days after the thermostats are installed and paired with the TELUS SmartHome+ application. To be eligible to receive the points, your TELUS Rewards account must be activated within 30 days of installation.
From December 1st to March 31st, Hydro-Québec Rate Flex D offers significant savings compared to the base Rate.
Pay below the base rate over 95% of the winter season.
During occasional peak demand events (5% of winter at most), you'll pay above the base rate.
For the rest of the year, standard rate D pricing applies.

If you cancel your subscription prior to installation; or if the thermostats have not been installed, paired in the TELUS SmartHome+ application, and enrolled in TELUS energy savings events within 30 days of subscription activation; or if your subscription is otherwise cancelled, the thermostats must be returned to TELUS in good condition within 14 days, in accordance with the instructions provided by TELUS. - Connect the number of devices / appliances you selected to a smart plug. (Smart thermostats to control all of the heating and cooling in your home. Typically natural gas heated homes have 1 smart thermostat on the property and electrically heated homes have one per room)
The savings are based on the following:
1) average energy rates in the province selected,
2) average energy consumption data in the selected household type,
3) average energy consumption data in the selected heating type,
4) average savings from the devices mentioned as part of the calculator,
5) average rewards customers can earn by participating in Energy events.
The savings do NOT account for: size of home, age of home, level of insulation or number of occupants.
Savings are not guaranteed and can greatly differ among customers based on several factors, including without limitation the level of engagement with the app, number of devices in the home and other factors outside of TELUS’ control. The more smart devices you connect under management the greater the opportunity you have to achieve savings.
