Adding an app limit

Apple iPhone 7 on iOS 15.4.0

You can view app usage for your device and set app limits for yourself. Some devices are also able to set app time limits on a child's device.

  1. Note: With Screen Time, you can set daily time limits for different app categories. These settings will apply to all your devices sharing the same Apple ID.

    From the Home screen, tap Settings.

    The indicator is towards the right.
  3. Step 2/9

    Tap Screen Time.

    Note: You may need to turn on Screen Time. If necessary, tap Turn On Screen Time and select your preferences.

    The indicator is towards the bottom.

    Tap App Limits.

    The indicator is in the center.
  5. Step 4/9

    Tap Add Limit.

    The indicator is in the center.
  6. Step 5/9

    Select an app category.

    Note: You can select multiple app categories or tap All Apps & Categories.

    Tap Next.

    The indicator is in the top right.

    Select a time duration.

    Note: You can also set custom time durations for each day by tapping Customize Days.
