G5Inserting and removing the nano SIM card

Learn how to insert and remove a SIM card from your device. Your cellular service is activated through your SIM card which can be activated through your carriers account portal or through contacting your carrier directly; without it you cannot use cellular features. Note that a SIM card tray removal tool may be needed. Please contact your carrier's customer service directly if you are experiencing any issues.

Current Step: 1 - Locate the combined nano SIM / microSD card tray on the right side of your device.

Don't touch the gold contacts on your SIM card. That could damage the card. If you’re using a new SIM card, you can activate it by calling your carrier.

1 - Locate the combined nano SIM / microSD card tray on the right side of your device.
- Note: You must have a nano SIM card inserted in your phone to place calls, access the internet, download apps and share pictures over your carrier's network.
2 - Press the card insertion/removal tool into the combined nano SIM / microSD card tray pinhole and push in until the tray releases.
3 - Slide the combined nano SIM / microSD card tray out of its slot.
- Note: A nano SIM card may already be inserted in your phone.
4 - Insert or remove the nano SIM card into or from the tray with the gold contacts facing the back of the phone.
5 - Press the combined nano SIM / microSD card tray back into its slot until it clicks, making sure it's secure.
6 - You've completed the steps!
