How to change your password or adjust the number of rings before voicemail

Change your password

  1. From your home phone, access your mailbox
  2. From your Main Menu, press 441
  3. Enter your new password, then press #
  4. Press * to return to the previous menu

Adjust the number of times your phone rings before going to voicemail

  1. From your home phone dial *94
  2. Enter the number of rings you want your callers to hear (2-9)
  3. Hang up

Skip your password

You can choose if your password is required when checking voicemail from your home phone. Your passcode is always required when calling from another number or when logging into your Web inbox.

Note: For best privacy and security settings, TELUS recommends choosing to always require your password even when calling from your own phone.

To turn the Skip Password feature on or off

  1. From the Main menu press 48. Listen for the confirmation message


To turn Autoplay on and off:

  1. From the main menu, press 426 and follow the voice prompts

Manage group distribution lists

Create a group list so you can record a message once and send it to the whole group (e.g. your soccer team).

  1. From the main menu, press 42
  2. To review your group lists press 1
  3. To create a group press 2
    • Assign a number to your list (1-99) then press #
    • Enter the 10 digit mailbox or telephone destination number, then press #
    • When finished press # to save the list
  4. To delete a group list press 3 and follow the prompts
  5. To modify a group list press 4 and follow the prompts
  6. Press * to return to the previous menu

Manage outcall notifications

In addition to the standard Message Indicator, you can choose how and when you are notified of a new message. To do this, you need to set up Web access for your voicemail if you haven't already done so.

First-time setup and online management

Notifications must first be enabled using the Web.

  1. Log into your online inbox
  2. Select My Notifications in the top navigation bar
  3. Select Add Notifications located on the right hand side
  4. In the By field, select one of the drop down options
    • Email
    • Email with Audio (the message will be attached to the email)
    • Call my pager
    • Call my phone
  5. In the To field, enter the notification destination (email, phone number or pager number)
  6. Click the Save button
  7. You can customize your notifications further by making changes to Notification Rules or creating a Notification schedule

After first-time set-up

Once you have completed your first-time setup online, you can manage notifications online (see above) or by phone:

  1. Dial *98 to access your mailbox from home
  2. From your Main Menu, press 43 and follow the prompts to review, enable/disable or modify your notifications
