__To restart your Wi-Fi Hub__:

1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of your Wi-Fi hub.
2. Wait 10 seconds, then reconnect the power cord to the back of your modem.
3. Wait 5 minutes, then check your modem. The LED on the front should turn solid green.

__Important__: If the light does not turn green, check the fibre cable on the back and ensure it is fully plugged in.

Factory resetting your gateway will put all the settings back to default configuration. You should only do this if you are instructed to do so by one of our agents or one of our support articles.

To reset your gateway to its original factory settings:  

  1. Locate the red reset button on the back of the device. 
  2. Using a thin object (such as a needle, paper clip, toothpick), press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds until the Internet light turns red.
  3. Release the reset button. 
  4. Your TELUS gateway will restart automatically. 
  5. Please allow up to 10 minutes for the process to complete. 
  6. To reconnect to your gateway, you will need to use the default Wi-Fi name and password listed on the sticker on the side of your modem. 

Performing a factory reset on the gateway will enable **TELUS Smart Wi-Fi** on it. This technology allows your gateway to switch frequencies (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) automatically, depending on your connectivity needs. **Enabling TELUS Smart Wi-Fi also means you will no longer see your individual ‘2.4G’ or ‘5G’ networks and they will now appear as one consolidated network.**  

Factory resetting your gateway will erase and reset any customized Wi-Fi name and password you may have.
