Troubleshoot SmartHome+ routines and automation

Not all devices are supported by the routines builder yet – only smart plugs and thermostats. If you have a TELUS-branded device (such as a doorbell camera or a modem), these won’t appear in the routine builder as they are not yet supported. Similarly, any connected devices like your cellphone or laptop are also not yet supported by the routine builder.

If you are looking to add a smart plug or thermostat to your routine but can’t find it in your device list or can’t add it to a routine:

Only manual routines show up on the home screen of the SmartHome+ app, to make them easily accessible for whenever you want to run them. While all routines can be run manually, routines that are triggered (i.e. that have a trigger other than “Manual start”) will not appear on the home screen of the SmartHome+ app. To see your triggered routines, you can navigate to the Routines section of the app from the “More” tab.

If your manual routines aren’t appearing on the home screen, please ensure your routine was saved properly by seeing whether the routine appears on the Routines section of the app.
