How to seamlessly transition to TELUS from your current Internet, TV or Home Phone service provider.
What is Simple Switch?
Simple Switch with TELUS ensures a simple and seamless transition to TELUS from your current Internet, TV or Home Phone service provider.
This means that when you place an order with Simple Switch, TELUS will take care of cancelling your current service(s) on your behalf at an appropriate time so that there is no gap in service before your TELUS service(s) are installed. You do not need to call your previous provider.
Simple Switch is available to customers in Alberta and British Columbia who have working services in these two provinces with most service providers.
When will my previous services be cancelled?
We send the cancellation request to your current service provider on the day your TELUS services are installed. This ensures they do not have any interruptions in service in case there is a delay with the installation.
Where can I find my current provider’s account information?
In order for TELUS to initiate Simple Switch, we require details from your existing service provider. The following information can be found on your bill:
Account number
Customer name on the bill
Billing address
Please ensure all details provided are accurate, including the spelling and current address where your service(s) will be installed. These details are critical to a smooth and hassle-free transition to TELUS.
What should I do with my other provider’s equipment?
Once your service is cancelled, send your equipment back to your provider. Make sure you return your equipment after we have successfully cancelled your previous account.
You have 30 days to return the equipment after your disconnection date. Otherwise, you will be billed for unreturned equipment.
You can pack your equipment in any shipping-ready box. This can be a box received from an online purchase, gift box, shoe box, etc. The only requirement is that the box will allow you to close it securely for shipping purposes.
Then, take it to a Canada Post location. Alternatively, you may refer to your previous provider's website for further instructions on returning the equipment.
Do I get to keep my email account from my previous service provider?
Typically, home service providers require customers to be active home services subscribers in order to access their email services. Before your services are cancelled, please make sure to:
Migrate any important emails you want to keep to an alternative email account.
Provide an alternate email address where we can contact you.
