24/7 Onboard Recording

You can set up continuous onboard recording schedules by adding a micro SD card to your compatible video device.

A high quality, UHS-1 speed class micro SD card, with a minimum of 32GB and a maximum of 512GB storage, designed for surveillance is required, we recommend the following high endurance micro SD cards for continuous recording:

To install an SD card in a V523 or V523x (indoor) model camera:

: Onboard recording schedules are automatically created when a camera with a SD card is added to your account.

Please allow up to 5 minutes after creating an Onboard recording schedule for footage to be recorded to the card before it is available to be viewed.

Reformatting the SD card permanently removes all existing stored footage. If any footage needs to be saved, download it prior to reformatting the SD card.

The number of days of rolling recorded footage will depend on the SD card capacity, the recording schedule and resolution. The table below outlines the estimated number of days of rolling recording before the oldest video content on the card is automatically deleted to make room for new recordings.

No, saved and downloaded video contains audio when the video device records a clip based on a cloud recording rule. A cloud recording rule is any rule that records and uploads an individual video clip to your account to view later.

The SD card can record video as long as the camera is enrolled and operational.

One schedule per camera can be created, up to a maximum of 2 cameras.

Recorded video is encrypted and can only be viewed when the SD card is in the camera that recorded the video. When a brand new Onboard Recording rule is created for a camera, the camera formats the micro SD card. This deletes all the data stored on the card including any video recordings from a camera that may have been previously used with the card.
