Terms and conditions for linking TELUS Rewards accounts

Overview

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") are binding between TELUS (also “we”, “us”, and “ours”) and the user (also “you”, “yours”) and govern your access to and use of our services ("Services"), including the process of linking your loyalty account from another portal to our TELUS Rewards platform ("Linking Process").

By linking your loyalty account from the selected third party partner(s) (“Third Party”) using the Third Party accounts portal ("Third-Party Portal") with the TELUS Rewards portal, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

Eligibility

1. You must be a registered user of TELUS Rewards platform ("User") to link your loyalty account. To qualify for linking your TELUS Rewards account with the Third-Party account, you must: a. Be an active Third Party member and have an account in good standing, all in accordance with Third Party’s Terms and Conditions; and b. Be an active TELUS Rewards member and have their TELUS Rewards account in good standing, all in accordance with the TELUS Rewards Terms of Use.

2. You can only link one TELUS Rewards account with one Third Party account. You can de-link your accounts at any time. However, if you choose to de-link your accounts, you will no longer be eligible to leverage benefits in accordance with these Terms and the
TELUS Rewards terms and conditions
.

Purposes of Linking

3. The purposes of linking accounts are: a. To integrate your Third Party loyalty account from the Third-Party Portal with your TELUS Rewards account on TELUS Rewards platform in order to allow TELUS to track, redeem, transfer, and manage your loyalty points, rewards, or benefits. By linking your accounts, you authorize TELUS to access information related to your Third Party loyalty account, including but not limited to your loyalty points, transaction history, and rewards eligibility; b. To allow the Third Party to share your Third Party loyalty account information with TELUS, so we may understand your needs and preferences for particular products, services, and lifestyle activities, and may make personalized recommendations or offers about new products and services to you; and c. To allow TELUS to share your TELUS Rewards loyalty account information with the Third Party, so that the Third Party may understand your needs and preferences for particular products, services, and lifestyle activities, and may make personalized recommendations or offers about new products and services to you.

Authorization

5. By linking your Third Party loyalty account, you grant TELUS permission to access and retrieve data from the said account: a. To provide the Services related to the TELUS Rewards program and as defined in the
TELUS Rewards Program Terms and Conditions
; and b. To fulfil the purposes set out in sections 3 and 4 of these Terms.

6. You represent and warrant that you have the authority to grant such access, and that all information you provide during the linking process is accurate, complete, and up to date.

Data Privacy and Security

7. We shall protect your privacy and ensure the security of your personal information. The information we collect during the Linking Process will be handled in accordance with these Terms and the
TELUS Privacy Commitment

8. By linking your Third Party loyalty account, you consent to our collection, use, and sharing of your data with the Third Party in line with these Terms and the
TELUS Privacy Commitment
.

9. We will implement reasonable security measures to protect your data but cannot guarantee the absolute security of any data transmitted over the internet or through third-party services.

Third-Party Portal Terms and Conditions

10. You acknowledge that when linking your Third Party loyalty account to our platform, you remain subject to the terms and conditions of the Third-Party Portal.

11. We are not liable for any issues, disputes, or restrictions related to your Third-Party Portal loyalty account or any Third-Party's service.

Linking Process

12.
Account Verification
: You may be required to verify your identity and provide authentication credentials for the Third-Party Portal account during the Linking Process.

13.
Linking Confirmation
: Upon successful linking, we will notify you that your Third Party loyalty account is linked and the data transfer process will begin. If there is any issue with the linking, we will inform you promptly.

14.
Linking Failure
: In case of failure to link your loyalty account, we will not be held liable for any lost points, rewards, or benefits.

15.
Currency Management
: If permitted, you will be able to change the currency of points earned on TELUS Rewards portal. Frequency and cadence of currency update may differ for each service provider.

Unlinking Process

16.
Unlinking Your Accounts
: You can unlink your Third Party loyalty account at any time by using the TELUS Rewards portal’s unlink feature.

17.
Targeted Advertising and Marketing Offers
: When you unlink your Third Party loyalty account from your TELUS Rewards account, TELUS will stop sending to you advertising and marketing offers based on your Third Party loyalty account activity.

18.
Standard Advertising and Marketing Offers
: TELUS and the Third Party will continue to exchange your limited personal information to allow you to receive standard marketing offers from TELUS that are not targeted to your needs and preferences based on your Third Party loyalty account activity.

19.
Retention of Accounts Information
: Your personal information which TELUS received prior to unlinking will be retained by TELUS in accordance with the TELUS Record Retention Rules.

Use of Loyalty Points and Rewards

20. Once your loyalty account is linked, you can use your points, rewards, or benefits across both platforms, subject to the respective rules of each. However, we reserve the right to adjust, modify, or remove certain rewards or benefits as necessary.

Account Deactivation

21. We may also deactivate or unlink your TELUS Rewards account if we determine, in our sole discretion, that your actions violate these Terms, the TELUS Rewards Program Terms and Conditions or the policies of the Third-Party Portal.

Modifications to the Terms

22. We reserve the right to modify, update, or change these Terms at any time. and such changes will be effective 30 days after posting. We will notify you of any significant changes to these Terms by updating by posting the change on our TELUS Reward platform and by updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Services after any changes will constitute your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Applicable Laws

23. TELUS is a company subject to federal legislation. Any issue concerning the validity, interpretation, application or execution of this Agreement will be governed by applicable Canadian laws and regulations and by applicable provincial laws and regulations.

Limitation of Liability

24. We will not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the linking process, including but not limited to loss of points, rewards, or account access.

Termination

25. We may suspend or terminate your ability to link your loyalty account at any time if we suspect fraudulent activity or a violation of these Terms.
