How can I purchase a Disney+ subscription as a TELUS customer?
You can purchase a Disney+ subscription in the following ways:
As a standalone subscription for existing TELUS customers

What is a Disney+ standalone subscription and how can I purchase it?
Disney+ is offered as a standalone subscription for existing TELUS customers. If you have at least one TELUS product, you qualify to purchase a Disney+ tier.
Currently you can purchase the following Disney+ tiers as a standalone product:
Disney+ Standard with Ads
Disney+ Standard
Disney+ Premium
How can I purchase Disney+ standalone?
You must have at least one TELUS service to purchase Disney+ Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard or Disney+ Premium. You can purchase
to subscribe. After you complete your purchase, you'll receive an activation email that will have steps required to set up your account.
What if I already have a Disney+ account?
If you already have an existing Disney+ account, you will be able to link your existing account so that you don’t lose your watch history or account details.
After you activate, you may have to manage your existing subscription to avoid being double-billed. If you already have a Disney+ direct-billed subscription for the same or a lower subscription tier, it will be automatically paused until your subscription via TELUS ends or changes to a lower subscription tier.
If your Disney+ direct-billed subscription is for a higher subscription tier, or you have an existing Disney+ subscription that is invoiced by a third-party, you will have to manage your subscriptions to avoid having multiple subscriptions. See the

Managing your Disney+ standalone subscription
I’ve purchased Disney+ on TELUS as a standalone subscription. How can I start watching content?
To start watching your favourite movies and shows, you must first activate your Disney+ account in the My TELUS app. You can do this by following the link in the activation email that you'll receive after you complete your purchase.
If you already have an existing Disney+ account, you will be able to link your existing account so that you don’t lose your watch history or account details. After you activate, you may have to manage your existing subscription to avoid being double-billed. See the
Important information to know when you cancel Disney+
If you cancel Disney+ on TELUS, you will no longer have access to your streaming account through TELUS.
If you already had an existing subscription to Disney+ prior to activating through TELUS, your subscription may automatically renew with the streaming service provider if your previous method of payment is still on your account and is up-to-date. Otherwise, you may have to update your payment information to resume service with the streaming service provider again.
When you cancel, you will still have access to your subscription until the end of your billing cycle. If you cancel Disney+ during a promotional period through TELUS, your cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

What’s included with a Disney+ subscription with Optik TV and how can I purchase it?
When you select Disney+ as part of your Optik TV package, you will get access to a Disney+ Premium subscription. Included in your subscription is an extensive catalogue of Disney movies, original series and shows with new premieres released each month, accessible on both the Disney+ app and web browser at
Add Disney+ to your package as a Premium selection.
If you’ve already selected the maximum amount of Premium selections for your package, you can add Disney+ as an extra premium for an additional charge.

Once you've added Disney+ to your Optik TV package, you’ll need to activate your new Disney+ account and link your existing Disney+ account to your Optik TV account.

How does billing work for Disney+?
As part of Optik TV, TELUS offers third-party billing for video streaming subscription services like Disney+. Once you add and activate Disney+ to your Optik TV package, you will be billed via your Optik TV bill.

How do I remove the Disney+ subscription from my Optik TV package?
You can remove your Disney+ subscription through your My TELUS account without causing additional early cancellation fees. You’ll be responsible for updating your payment method with Disney+ after this point. Please don’t forget to choose another Premium selection.
If you wish to cancel your Disney+ account altogether or remove it from your Optik TV subscription, log in to your Disney+ account to cancel your subscription.
If you cancel during your billing cycle, you will see prorated charges for the remaining days of the month, if applicable.
If you had a pre-existing Disney+ subscription which was billed directly with Disney+ that was paused when you signed up via TELUS, that subscription will resume upon cancelling Disney+ with TELUS.
After you cancel your Disney+ subscription with TELUS, it is your responsibility to manage any Disney+ subscription that is billed directly or via a third party if you no longer wish to maintain a subscription to the Disney+ service or wish to make any change to your related subscription.
I already have a Disney+ account. Can I connect it to my Optik TV package?
If you already have an existing Disney+ account, you will be able to link your existing account so you don’t lose your watch history or account details. After you activate, you may have to manage your existing subscription to avoid being double-billed.
If I’m an existing Disney+ subscriber, does anything change with my Disney+ account once I activate with Optik TV?
Only the Disney+ Premium tier is available to be added to your Optik TV package. If you were previously subscribed to another tier of Disney+, your account will be upgraded to the Premium tier upon adding Disney+ to your Optik TV package.
The email address for my My TELUS account is different from the email address on my Disney+ account. Can I still activate?
Yes. The email address on your Disney+ account and My TELUS account can be different. Your My TELUS affiliated email will be used to sign into My TELUS, and your Disney-affiliated email will be used to sign into Disney+.
Does streaming on my mobile device count towards my mobile data usage allowance?
Streaming movies and shows will count towards your data usage allowance if you're using your mobile data. To use less mobile data, you can connect to Wi-Fi when streaming on your mobile device or you can download content for offline viewing where available.
Streaming content while connected to your home Wi-Fi will count towards your internet data limit.
