When & why My TELUS is replacing the Optik TV accounts
An Optik TV account is a TELUS credential created through your Optik TV digital box. Your Optik TV account gives you access to the Optik TV app when you are using a web browser or Android tablet/smartphone. This is different from your My TELUS account, which you can also use to access the Optik TV app and manage your TELUS services on telus.com/MyTELUS.
To simplify managing multiple usernames and/or passwords, beginning October 29, 2020, the Optik TV Account log in will be replaced by the My TELUS log in. This ensures you can use your My TELUS account to access the Optik TV app or other supported TV apps.
Note: This change does not impact the live TV viewing experience on your Optik TV digital box.
How to create a My TELUS account to access the Optik TV app
To continue accessing your subscriptions on the Optik TV app, you just need to use your My TELUS account.
The My TELUS account can be easily created on telus.com/MyTELUS. You will need your account number when you register (your account number can be found at the top of your bill).

- You will be able to log in to TELUS Rewards, where you can earn points just for paying your monthly bill, and redeem for rewards you will love, like bill credits, On Demand credits, contests, and more. As a TELUS Rewards customer, you will also get access to exclusive perks and discounts to brands like Nintendo and DoorDash
- Connect your Google or Amazon smart speaker to control your Optik TV hands-free through TELUS Home Assistant
Steps for customers with multiple Optik TV services
If you have multiple Optik TV services and use Optik TV accounts to access one or more of their services on the Optik TV App, we have made improvements to My TELUS to ensure you can access any of your Optik TV services on the Optik TV App.
TELUS can help by setting up additional credentials for each of your Optik TV services. For assistance, please call TELUS at 1-888-811-2323 and speak to a customer representative. You will need the following information before calling:
- Billing Account Number, which can be found at the top of your bill
- Your unique email address from your Optik TV service/address (e.g. firstname.lastname@example.org for Optik TV Service in Edmonton, and email@example.com for Optik TV Service in Vancouver)
