Can't transfer content from your scanner or camera to TELUS email
Let's help you update the settings in your device to fix issues with transferring content to your email.
As part of the email migration that concluded in May 2021, we are shutting down the old SMTP server in a phased manner, and the shutdown is scheduled to end on September 30, 2021. After that, the customers who did not update the SMTP settings in their scanners or cameras will see disruption when attempting to send content from those devices to their TELUS email account.
How to avoid disruption?
You can update the settings in your devices to include the new SMTP server details, as shown below.
1. Enable “Less secure apps” in Google
You must first enable this feature to authorize the device (scanner and/or camera) to send an email to your TELUS email account.
To do so, follow these steps:
On the main page, select
Security
from the left-hand menu
Scroll down until you find the section
Less secure apps
2. Update SMTP/outgoing server details on your device(s)
Depending on your device, you may or may not need all of the information given here but we are including it for your convenience. Please update the details listed under SMTP/outgoing server as follows:
Requires TLS:
Yes
(if available)
Requires Authentication:
Yes
Port for TLS/STARTTLS:
587
The exact way to update your SMTP server details depends on each of your devices. So, please consult the device manufacturer’s information on how to do this.
