Set up the TELUS My Wi-Fi app using a T3200 modem

The TELUS My Wi-Fi app allows you to get the best out of your Advanced Wi-Fi modem. Using the My Wi-Fi app, you can manage pause Wi-Fi for individual devices, change your Wi-Fi network name and password, and see what devices are connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Understanding data usage


Never worry about going over your data plan again. The TELUS My Wi-Fi app provides a convenient view of your data usage for the month, as well as how many days are left before the new cycle begins.

Understand speed test results


The TELUS My Wi-Fi app shows you the connection speed from your home to the Internet. You can match the speed you are seeing to your subscribed plan, conveniently located at the top right corner of the screen.

Note: The speed test results are conducted every 6 hours.

Change your Wi-Fi network name and password


To change your Wi-Fi network name and password, follow these instructions.

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. Navigate to the Wi-Fi tab
  3. Select Edit
  4. Change your Wi-Fi network name or password to your new desired network name or password. Select Save (located in the upper corner of your screen)

Note: Once you change your Wi-Fi network name or password, you will need to reconnect all of your Wi-Fi connected devices using the new network settings. This includes mobile devices, printers, tablets, etc.

Pause your devices


To pause (or resume) Wi-Fi on your specific devices:

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. On the Overview tab, select Pause Wi-Fi, located at the upper right-hand corner of the Overview screen
  3. Select the device you would like to pause
  4. Press the pause icon located next to the device’s name

Need help identifying a device?

Create a device profile


To create a profile and pause multiple devices at once:

  1. Open your My Wi-Fi app
  2. On the Overview tab, scroll down until you see the green “Create a profile” button
  3. Select a name for the profile
  4. Add up to 5 devices to the profile
  5. Done!

You will now see this profile at the top of the Pause Wi-Fi screen. To pause all the devices in the profile, simply tap the pause button as normal

Edit your device name


It can be difficult to pause devices individually when their names are generic.

You can change the name of devices using the TELUS My Wi-Fi app, making it easier than ever to pause the correct devices whenever you want!

Note: This will only change how the device’s name appears in the app. It will not affect the device.

To edit a device name:

  1. Open the TELUS My Wi-Fi app
  2. Navigate to the Devices tab
  3. Select the device whose name you want to change
  4. Select the Edit button at the top right
  5. Enter the new name
  6. When you are done, select Save

Need help identifying a device?


Some devices such as printers, cameras or smart home devices assign names that are vague.

There are two ways to identify your device:

Option 1

  1. Open your device’s network settings (i.e. your tablet)
  2. Most devices will display a MAC address or IP address
  3. Match this number to the number found in the TELUS My Wi-Fi app

Option 2

  1. In the TELUS My Wi-Fi app, navigate to the Devices tab
  2. Your connected devices will be listed at the top
  3. Disconnect the device you are trying to rename from your Wi-Fi network. This will make it move from the Connected section to the Not connected section
  4. Reconnect the device
  5. Edit device name
