Broadcast your show on maCommunauté

• Beauce and Quebec City region: All the municipalities served by TELUS, from Saint-Roch-des-Aulnaies to the north to Saint-Robert-Bellarmin to the south, and from Saint-Omer to the east to Sainte-Thècle, to the west.
• Bas-Saint-Laurent and Gaspé: All the municipalities served by TELUS, from Gros-Morne to the north to Matapédia to the south and from Gaspé to the east to Saint-Simon to the west.
• North Shore: From Blanc-Sablon to the northeast to Forestville to the southwest.

maCommunauté offers local people and organizations visibility by allowing them to broadcast their shows on Optik TV, on Video on Demand and on the web. TELUS Optik TV subscribers can view the content at any time. Applications are evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Is your program relevant to the community? Does it address local issues, promote a diversity of voices and express different points of view?
• Does the program showcase places and people in our communities?
• Does the program showcase health, culture or sport?
• Does the program comply with the broadcasting industry’s standards set out in the code of conduct administered by the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC)? These standards can be viewed on the Council’s website.

N.B.

• Your show must not be licensed to a broadcaster and you must obtain all the necessary authorizations and releases for broadcasting on maCommunauté for a period of at least 10 years.
• The show cannot be submitted by an employee of TELUS or of another broadcasting company.
• You must live in one of the following regions to apply: Quebec City, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Gaspé, Beauce or North Shore.

Q: Do I have to submit a professional-quality synopsis of the program?

A: No. A web link to view the show is sufficient. If you cannot make the content available online, send it to us on a USB key. Details on how to send the content by mail will be provided after we receive your application.

Q: Can you broadcast my show even if it has already aired on another local channel?

A: Yes, we will consider all broadcast applications even if they have aired on another local channel.

Q: Does maCommunauté offer funding for content broadcasting?

A: maCommunauté does not pay broadcasting licence fees for shows that have already been produced. Funding is, however, available for new projects.

Q: How will I know that you have received my application?

A: You will receive an automatic confirmation message as soon as you submit your application.

Q: Once I’ve delivered my show, how long will it take before it airs?

A: It will take more than four weeks before it becomes available on Video on Demand and four weeks or more for the linear channel, depending on the programming schedule.

To apply, simply provide your name, telephone number and a brief description of the project. You will receive an answer within two to four weeks, at which point we will let you know if we need more information about your project.
