Managing App Power Usage and Force Closing Apps

You can set battery usage allowances for certain apps on your device. If an app is using too much battery life or is behaving incorrectly, you can force stop the application.

  1. Step 1/10

    From the Home screen, tap the Apps icon.

    The indicator is towards the bottom.
  2. Step 2/10

    Scroll to Settings.

    The indicator is in the center.
  3. Step 3/10

    Tap Settings.

    The indicator is towards the right.
  4. Step 4/10

    Scroll to Apps.

    The indicator is in the center.
  5. Step 5/10

    Tap Apps.

    The indicator is towards the left.
  6. Step 6/10

    Scroll down to view your apps.

    The indicator is in the center.
  7. Step 7/10

    To force close an app, select an app.

    The indicator is towards the left.
  8. Step 8/10

    Tap FORCE STOP. Only use this feature if an app isn’t properly working or you suspect it may be malicious. Otherwise, use the Recent apps button to close open apps.

    Tap OK.
