Current Step: 1 - From the Home screen, tap Settings.
To access Wi-Fi, devices need to use a media access control (MAC) address. If the device keeps the same MAC address across all the Wi-Fi networks that it uses, the user can be tracked based on which Wi-Fi networks they access. Using Private Address will randomize your device's MAC address to make it harder for your device to be tracked. Turning on Private Address may require you to sign into some public Wi-Fi networks, such as hotels, restaurants, apartment complexes, more often to re-authenticate your device.
  1. 1 - From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. 2 - Tap Wi-Fi.
  3. 3 - Tap the info icon beside the Wi-Fi network you would like to edit.
  4. 4 - Tap or slide the Private Wi-Fi Address switch to ON.
    • Note: Using a Private Address will randomize your MAC address when connected to a Wi-Fi network. This will help reduce tracking of your device across different Wi-Fi networks.
  5. 5 - Tap Continue.
