Using Picture in Picture

With the Picture-in-Picture function of your device, you can keep a minimized version of some apps open while you navigate the rest of your device.

  1. Note: Picture in Picture mode allows you to continue watching a video while navigating your device. For this tutorial we will be using a video that we are watching on YouTube from the Safari app.

    There are no indicators associated with this step.
  2. Step 1/6

    From a full screen video, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to access the Home screen.

    Note: If you are using a device with a home button, press the Home button instead of swiping up from the bottom of your screen.

    The indicator is towards the bottom.
  3. Step 2/6

    Drag the video to the desired location.

    The indicator is in the top right.
  4. Step 3/6

    Tap Settings.

    Note: You can access other apps while your video is playing.

    The indicator is towards the right.
  5. Step 4/6

    Tap the video to bring up options.

    The indicator is towards the top.
  6. Step 5/6

    Tap the Picture in Picture icon to go back to full screen mode.

    The indicator is in the top right.
