Adding a vehicle to your Drive+ account

Drive+ app on iOS, Version 3.8.12

Once the OBD-II device has been installed in your vehicle, you can add your automobile to the Drive+ app.

  1. Note: Before getting started, make sure to check your vehicle compatibility. Please visit telus.com/drive to access the vehicle compatibility tool. Most vehicles year 1996 or newer have an OBD-II port. Electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are not compatible with Drive+.

    There are no indicators associated with this step.
  2. Step 1/8

    From the Drive+ app, tap Add car.

    Note: If you've already added a vehicle, you can add another by tapping Pair New Car in the Devices section.

    The indicator is in the center.
  3. Step 2/8

    Scan the IMEI barcode printed on the OBD-II device or your included Wi-Fi hotspot card.

    Note: You can also enter the device's IMEI number manually.

    The indicator is towards the bottom.
  4. Step 3/8

    Tap Next.

    Note: If you've not yet installed your micro SIM card, please refer to our tutorial for inserting or removing it.

    The indicator is in the bottom right.
  5. Step 4/8

    Locate the OBD-II port on your vehicle.

    Note: The OBD-II port is typically located under the dashboard on the driver's side within 18" of the steering wheel. If you're having difficulties locating your port, tap Find OBD port.

    Note: Tapping the Flashlight icon will activate your flashlight within the app to help locate your port.

  6. Step 5/8

    Scroll to the Manage Devices.

    Note: Never insert or remove your OBD-II device with your engine on. Do not unplug the device within the first 24 hours of installation.

    Tap Manage Devices.

    The indicator is towards the bottom.
  8. Step 7/8

    Drive your vehicle around for 10 minutes until your connection is complete.

    Note: The device needs to establish a cellular connection and GPS lock before adding your vehicle is complete.

    The indicator is towards the top.
  9. Step 8/8

    You've completed the steps!
