Learn how to adjust notification settings for applications. You can have some applications notify you with a sound while others come in silently.

Current Step: 1 - From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  1. 1 - From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. 2 - Tap Notifications.
    • Note: For this tutorial, we're showing how to manage notifications for Messages. You can select a different option, but steps may vary based on which app you choose.
  3. 3 - Tap Messages.
  4. 4 - Select the type of alerts you'd like to receive.
    • Note: You can also completely disable notifications for an app.
  5. 5 - Tap Banner Style.
  6. 6 - Select your preferences.
    • Note: Temporary notifications appear at the top of your screen and then disappear after several seconds. Persistent notificaitons must be dismissed manually.
  7. 7 - Tap Messages.
  8. 8 - Tap Sounds.
  9. 9 - Select your preferences.
    • Note: You can also select your vibration preferences.
  10. 10 - Tap Messages.
  11. 11 - Tap or slide the Badges switch ON or OFF.
    • Note: Badges show the number of unreviewed notifications for an app on the Home screen.
  12. 12 - Tap Show Previews.
  13. 13 - Select your preferences.
    • Note: Limiting when your notification previews are visible can help protect important personal information.
  14. 14 - Tap Messages.
  15. 15 - Tap Notification Grouping.
  16. 16 - Select your preferences.
    • Note: Grouped notifications allow you to view or dismiss mutiple notifications from the same app at once.
  17. 17 - Tap Messages.
  18. 18 - You've completed the steps!
