Multitasking between apps

Multitasking
A feature of a device OS that lets you have multiple apps, widgets and services running at the same time. You can have notes, videos and browser windows hover over other apps on your device.

It's easy to switch between different apps on your device, and there are multiple ways you can share data between them.

  1. Note: Use the Recent Apps icon to quickly switch between apps and close apps not in use. In this example, we're showing how to copy an address in a message and paste it into Google Maps.

    There are no indicators associated with this step.

    From the Home screen, tap the Recent Apps icon.

    Note: Recently opened apps will appear in the order you last used them.

    Select the app you'd like to view.

    Note: Some apps let you have multiple windows open at a time. If you have more than one open, you can go directly to any window.
