Multitasking between apps

It's easy to switch between different apps on your device, and there are multiple ways you can share data between them.
Note: Use the Recent Apps icon to quickly switch between apps and close apps not in use. In this example, we're showing how to copy an address in a message and paste it into Google Maps.

From the Home screen, tap the Recent Apps icon.
Note: Recently opened apps will appear in the order you last used them.

Select the app you'd like to view.
Note: Some apps let you have multiple windows open at a time. If you have more than one open, you can go directly to any window.

Touch and hold the Message you'd like to copy.

Tap Copy text.

Tap the Recent Apps icon.

Select the app you'd like to view.

Tap the Search here field.

Touch and hold the Search here field.

Tap Paste.

Select an option.

Tap the Recent Apps icon.

Swipe an app up to close it.
Note: You can also tap the X icon to close an app.
