Using a Knock Code lock

Your device can be secured using a knock pattern where you tap squares on the lock screen in a pattern. No one will be able to get into your device without knowing the knock pattern. If you forget your knock pattern you will have to reset your device and you will lose any information that is not backed up.

  1. Step 1/12

    From the Home screen, tap Settings.

    The indicator is towards the right.
  2. Step 2/12

    Tap General.

    The indicator is in the top right.
  3. Step 3/12

    Tap Lock screen & security.

    The indicator is in the top left.

    Tap Select screen lock.

    The indicator is in the center.

    Tap Knock Code.

    Note: For this tutorial, we're showing how to set up a Knock Code. You can select a different type of security, but steps may vary based on what you choose.

    Enter your desired Knock Code.

    Note: Your Knock Code must be at least 6 taps and use at least 3 different quarters.

    Tap NEXT.

    Confirm your Knock Code.

    Tap CONFIRM.

    Select a notification preference.

    Note: Tap Hide sensitive only to prevent the content of emails, texts and other notifications from appearing on the Lock screen. You'll be notified that you have a new message, but not shown what the message contains.
