__What you’ll need__:

Tips to ensure a smooth installation

1. Plug in your Apple TV by connecting the cord to the built-in power supply on your Apple TV
2. Connect one end of an HDMI cable to an HDMI port on the back of your TV. Connect the other end to the HDMI port on your Apple TV

3. Turn on your TV, then select the input that matches the HDMI input from step 2
4. Follow the onscreen setup instructions, and you’re ready to experience Apple TV
5. Ensure your Apple TV software is up to date

Setting up your Apple TV

5. Congratulations! Your Apple TV is now connected to your home Wi-Fi. Press the menu button on your Apple TV remote to return to the home screen

1. From the home screen on your Apple TV, navigate to the App Store

4. Select __Get__ and you will be prompted to confirm your selection

5. Select __Get__ and you will be prompted to enter in your Apple ID and password

6. Using the touchpad or voice activation on your Apple TV remote, sign in to the iTunes Store with your Apple ID and select __Continue__

7. Enter your Apple ID password and select __OK__ and the Pik TV app will begin downloading

8. Once the download has completed, select __Open__ and you will be redirected to the Pik TV home screen

9. Click on any channel and you will be prompted to log in using your My TELUS credentials

10. Select __Login Now__

__Supported devices__

The TELUS TV+ app for Android TV is currently supported on Nvidia Shield, Sony TVs running Android TV and Chromecast with Google TV.

__Home__

From the TELUS TV+ Home screen, you can see what’s __On Now__ on live TV, __Resume__ your On Demand programming, browse __Highlights__ and __Favourites__ or view your recent __Purchases__. You can also navigate to __Live TV__, __On Demand__, __Guide__ or __Settings__ or __Search__ at the top of your screen.

__Live TV__

All Optik TV customers have access to the live TV content included in their subscription. Live TV will show you what’s on now by category: __Sports__, __News__, __Kids__, __Entertainment__, __Lifestyle__, __Learning__, __Movies and Multicultural__.

During live TV playback, press the middle of the d-pad on your remote to bring up program details, pause playback for up to 15 minutes or enable __Closed Captioning__ (CC) or __Described Video__ (DV). 

Press down once on your remote to bring up the __Live TV__ schedule and see what’s __On now__ on other channels. You can also record your current program by clicking the record icon.

You can pause live TV for up to 15 minutes using the select button (in the middle of the d-Pad) on your Android TV remote and you can also restart programs that are currently in progress by selecting the restart icon in the progress bar on screen.     

__Please note__: Due to content provider restrictions, some channels are only available when connected to your TELUS home Internet, and not all programming is available to restart. Fast-forward may be blocked on paused and restarted programs by the content provider.

__On Demand__

All Optik TV customers have access to the On Demand content included in their subscription, a selection of TELUS-exclusive titles in __TELUS Presents__ as well as a selection of On Demand movies available for rental. You can browse by __Featured__, __TV Shows__, __Movies__, __Channels__, __Kids__, and more.

__Please note__: You can pause, rewind or fast forward On Demand TV content, but fast forward may be disabled on select programming by the content provider. You can pause, rewind or fast forward On Demand movies available for rental.

__Guide__

In the __Guide__ section, you can see what’s playing today and over the next 10 days. Any shows with a home icon in the guide indicate that this programming is only available when connected to your TELUS home Internet. 

You can also filter your guide by selecting the filter icon in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Filter options are:

- All channels will display all of the channels that are available with Optik TV
- My subscribed channels will display all of the channels that you have in your Optik TV subscription
- Playable on this device will display all of the channels that you are subscribed to and can watch on this device. Please note that some channels are only available when connected to your TELUS home internet connection

When you select a program that is on now, it will take you to the live TV player.

When you select a program that is airing in the future, it will bring up the episode information page. From here you can set a recording either for the episode or for the series and view showtimes.

__Recordings__

In the __Recordings__ section, you will see both __Recorded__ and __Scheduled__ programs. For programs that have already been recorded, you will see them organized as __Recently recorded__ as well as all __Recorded items__. 

Under an individual recording, you will see information including season and episode details, the date the program was recorded and run time. For series recordings, you will see the number of episodes recorded. You can also delete existing recordings or edit your recording settings. 

Under __Scheduled__, you can cancel upcoming recordings, edit your recording settings or resolve recording conflicts. You can also __Sort__ and __Filter__ the views of existing and scheduled recordings. If you have the __Recordings__ bundle included as part of your Optik TV combo, you can also initiate playback of your recorded programs from the __Recordings__ menu.

__Search__

You can use the search function to find a movie, TV show or cast member, using the on-screen keyboard or voice remote where available. If searching for a movie or TV series, your search results will include both live and On Demand viewing options for your title. If searching for a specific cast member, your search results will provide a list of available live or On Demand titles where that cast member appeared.

__Settings__

You can access your settings by going to __Profile__ -> __Settings__ in the top-right corner, where you can visit a short how-to tutorial under __The Basics__ section, visit TELUS TV+ online support material and read TELUS’s privacy policy.

You can also set your accessibility preferences including enabling __Closed Captioning__ or __Described Video__.

4. You will be prompted to confirm your Apple ID account. Validate your touch ID or select __Install__

5. Enter your Apple ID password to sign in. Your download will begin

6. Once the download has completed, the Pik TV app will be available on the home screen. Select __Open__ or open the app from the home screen

7. Upon opening the app, you will be redirected to a login screen where you will be prompted to enter your My TELUS username and password. Don't have an account? [__Register now__](https://www.telus.com/selfregistration?INTCMP=Tcom_New_LoginPage_SelfRegLink). Check the __Remember me__ box so that you don’t have to enter your username and password every time you open the Pik TV app. Forgot your password? Click the link at the bottom of the screen and follow the instructions to have a new password sent to your email

8. Select __Login__. You will now be redirected to the Pik TV app home page. You’re all set. Watch a show that’s on now, browse the guide for upcoming episodes or search the On Demand library!

1. From the home screen of your Android device, navigate to the __Play Store__

2. In the search bar of the Play Store, enter __Pik TV__ and select __Search__

3. The Pik TV app will appear. Select __Install__
