With the TELUS Device Checkup app you can easily find customized solutions to common device problems. For example, the app can help you optimize your device performance if your battery is draining faster than expected, your phone is running slowly or you have storage constraints.

How does TELUS Device Checkup work

The TELUS Device Checkup app will run a series of tests directly from your mobile device. It will provide the status and recommendations on:

  • Battery
  • Storage
  • Connectivity
  • Data
  • Device

Issues will be identified and recommendations will be provided to help your device work at its best.

How to get the app

TELUS Device Checkup is available on iOS devices (running iOS 8+) and Android devices (running Android 4.4 and up). Visit Google Play from your mobile device to download today. Available soon on the Apple App Store.

Using the app

The first time you open TELUS Device Checkup on your device the app will ask you to allow Data Usage Access in the device settings. This is needed to run diagnostic tests.

You can select the categories you want to test (Battery, Storage, Connectivity, Data, Device) by checking or unchecking the boxes on the start-up screen. It is recommended to select all the categories as your issue could have solutions in a number of categories. If you have selected the "Battery" test, a battery drain test will occur, maximizing vibration, flashlight and screen brightness to determine if your battery is performing normally.

When the tests are complete, you can view recommendations in each category and apply any changes you’d like.

You can tap the Start New Test button to restart from the beginning.
