Starter plan FAQ

Did you know that Koodo is part of the TELUS family? Starter plans at Koodo give you the option to choose a plan with basic functionality and are good for customers who are just starting out with a smartphone, who don’t plan to use their phone too often or just want to keep data use to a minimum.

If you are looking for a plan that allows you to do basic activities on your phone like checking email or browsing the internet, then consider Starter plans at Koodo.

Starter plans run on the same 4G LTE network as all other TELUS and Koodo plans, but data speeds are reduced down to 3 Mbps (3G speeds). Since it’s the same, great network, if your phone works on the 4G LTE network, it will work with these plans. Please note that Koodo does not currently offer a 5G network.

. If you are an existing TELUS customer, you can port your TELUS number to Koodo after activating online.

The Koodo Starter plan is not compatible with bundled discount offers such as the TELUS Family Discount. If you currently have the TELUS Family Discount, please note that for each line or family member that leaves, you will forfeit the contribution of the discount associated with that line.

No, you can only share data between your phone and other connected devices like a tablet or smartwatch with Unlimited plans at TELUS.
