By default, a TELUS customer with an Actiontec Wi-Fi extender will have multiple Wi-Fi networks (SSIDs). Once you have connected to all the networks, your wireless device should automatically choose the closest and/or strongest Wi-Fi network available. You can also manually specify which Wi-Fi network to connect to using your device’s list of available networks.
Here are examples of the networks that should appear:
Extender 2.4 GHz: TELUS-1234-2.4G
Extender 5.0 GHz: TELUS-1234-5G
If you have the Advanced Wi-Fi Modem (T3200M) and a Wi-Fi extender, you will have 4 networks in your home:
Gateway 2.4 GHz: TELUS1234-2.4G
Gateway 5 GHz: TELUS1234-5G
Extender 2.4 GHz: TELUS-1234-EXT-2.4G
Extender 5.0 GHz: TELUS-1234- EXT-5G
Note:
The network name for your Wi-Fi extender may differ depending on how your TELUS technician has named it.
The password for all your Wi-Fi networks will be the same as your TELUS Gateway’s Wi-Fi password, unless you have changed it.
