How to set up and troubleshoot your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite
Are you experiencing Wi-Fi connection or disconnection issues on some of your devices? Set up your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite and follow these tips to help fix your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite issues.
Instructions to set up your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite
Power on your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite close to your Boost Wi-Fi 6.
Connect the Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite to your Boost Wi-Fi 6 with an Ethernet cable to sync them.
Wait for the Internet LED on the Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite to turn solid green. This can take up to three minutes.
A firmware upgrade may take place at this time. The LED will flash orange and the Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite will reboot once this is complete and the LED will turn solid green. If you see a flashing green, that is fine as well. This may take five to ten minutes.
Remove the Ethernet cable and unplug your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite from power.
Move your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite closer to the area of your home where Wi-Fi coverage is needed and power it on. Connect to a nearby Ethernet wall outlet if available.
If the connection is successful, the Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite LED will turn solid green. This can take up to five minutes. If the LED is not solid green, refer to the
You can use the following information to troubleshoot during or after installation if required.
Internet LED
No colour
: Check if the power cable is plugged into the Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite and the power outlet.
Flashing green
: No action required. Your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is starting up and connecting to your home network. It may take up to five minutes for your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite to complete setup. This process is complete when the LED is solid green.
Solid green
: No action required. Your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite has a good Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
Flashing orange
: Your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite software is updating. Do not turn off your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite during this time. The LED will turn solid green when finished.
Flashing red
: A factory reset is taking place.
Solid red
: Your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is not connected to the network.
If your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is wired to the modem, please check your Ethernet connection.
If a flashing blue LED persists, try re-pairing your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite with the Boost Wi-Fi 6 connected to the modem.
Mesh LED
Bright green for seven seconds, off for three seconds and repeats
: The Wi-Fi backhaul signal to the main Access Point is too strong. Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is working, but it’s too close to another Boost device which can cause interference. Try moving one of the Boost devices further away to improve performance.
Bright green for three seconds, off for seven seconds and repeats
: The Wi-Fi backhaul signal to the main Access Point is too weak. Your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is working but has a weak signal. Moving it closer to the Boost Wi-Fi connected to your modem will improve performance.
Solid green
: The Wi-Fi backhaul signal is good or the Ethernet uplink has been established.
Wi-Fi LED
Solid green
: No action required. Your Boost Wi-Fi Lite 6 has a good Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
Solid red
: Your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is not connected to the network.
Solid orange
: Your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is working, but one or more Wi-Fi radios are disabled.
Flashing green (WPS mode)
: WPS pairing is in progress.
Solid green for 10 seconds. Then back to the previous state (WPS mode)
: The WPS pairing is successful.
Solid red for 10 seconds. Then goes back to the last state before pairing (WPS mode)
: Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) mode. Within two minutes of pressing the WPS button, press the WPS button on the device you wish to connect. If the LED turns red for 10 seconds, the pairing failed. Please try again. If the LED turns green for 10 seconds, the pairing is successful.
My Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is not working
If your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is not working, please try these fixes:
Check that the lights on the Wi-Fi 6 Lite are on.
Reboot Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite by unplugging the power cable for 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.
Confirm that the Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite’s power cable and power outlet are connected.
If you’re connected to a power strip, check that other devices connected to that device also work.
If your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is connected to a wall outlet, make sure it’s not connected to a wall switch.
Try connecting to another wall outlet.
My network speed is slow
If you’re experiencing speed issues with your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite, try these troubleshooting techniques:
Move closer to your nearest Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite.
Reboot your wireless device (laptop, mobile phone, tablet, etc.).
Ensure the Internet LED light on your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite is solid green. If the light isn't green, please refer to the "

” section above.
On the back of your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite, unplug the cable labelled “Power (reboot)” and plug it back in to reboot your Boost Wi-Fi 6 Lite.
