How to sign up for discovery+ in an Optik TV package
: The discovery+ app is not available on Optik PVR and Wireless Digital Boxes.
The discovery+ (Ad-Free) subscription can be accessed via the discovery+ app on most smartphones, tablets and desktop browsers and connected devices, including, but not limited to:
Amazon Fire TV streaming devices and Amazon Fire TV Edition Smart TVs
Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch devices and Apple TV
Google devices and platforms, including Android phones, tablets and Android OS devices
Chromecast with Google TV, Google Chromecast and Chromecast built-in devices
Microsoft Xbox One and Series S and X devices
The Roku platform
Samsung Smart TVs from 2017 and newer
discovery+ (Ad-Free) activation and account linking instructions
Once you add discovery+ to your Optik TV package, you’ll need to activate your new discovery+ account or link your existing discovery+ account to Optik TV.
Please follow the steps below to complete activation and reduce the risk of double billing:

Frequently asked questions
I already have a discovery+ account. Can I connect it to my Optik TV package?
Yes. When you add discovery+ to your Optik TV package, you’ll receive an email with activation instructions. Please follow the instructions in that email to ensure you have successfully linked your existing discovery+ account to your Optik TV package.
What is the difference between discovery+ on TELUS Stream+ and discovery+ on Optik TV?
discovery+ on TELUS Stream+ is the ad-supported (ad-lite) version. Discovery+ on Optik TV is the ad-free version of discovery+. Please select the plan version that best suits your viewing needs.
If I’m an existing discovery+ subscriber, does anything change with my discovery+ account once I activate with Optik TV (such as My List, Preferences, etc)?
No changes will be made to

The email address for my TELUS account is different from the one for my discovery+ account. Can I still activate?
Yes. The email address on your discovery+ account and My TELUS account can be different.
How does billing work for discovery+?
As part of Optik TV, TELUS offers third-party billing for video streaming subscription services like discovery+. Once you add and activate discovery+ to your Optik TV package, you will be billed $7 per month, plus applicable taxes, for discovery+ via your Optik TV bill.
I was billed twice by both Discovery and TELUS for my subscription. What do I do?
The cause of the double billing may be due to signing up for discovery+ as part of your Optik TV package without completing the activation steps described above, since your discovery+ (Ad-Free) payment method was not linked to your TELUS Optik TV package yet.

What if I want discovery+ to be billed directly to me (through Discovery, not TELUS)?
If you want to be billed directly for discovery+, remove discovery+ from your Optik TV package. Once you do, you can change your payment preferences with Discovery directly.
Can I take discovery+ included in my Optik TV package instead of as an a-la-carte Additional Channel?
This option is currently not available. You can only add discovery+ as an a-la-carte
Can I choose the discovery+ ad-supported plan instead of discovery+ as part of my Optik TV package?
No. discovery+ ad-supported plan is not included in Optik TV packages. If you are interested in discovery+ ad-supported plan, please consider the Stream+ package which is currently offered to TELUS Mobility and Koodo customers.

How do I remove the discovery+ subscription from my Optik TV package?
You can remove your discovery+ (Ad-Free) subscription through your My TELUS Account without causing additional early cancellation fees. You’ll be responsible for updating your payment method with Discovery after this point.
If you wish to cancel your discovery+ account altogether, remove it from your Optik TV subscription, then log in to your discovery+ account to cancel your subscription.
If you cancel during your billing cycle, you will see pro-rated charges for the remaining days of the month, if applicable.
