How to delete the ADC-S40-T temperature sensor on Alarm.com
- Put the Z-Wave controller inDelete Mode.
- Slide the device open to delete the sensor from the network. The LED on the sensor will turn solid and then blink to indicate the device has been successfully deleted.
How to reset the ADC-S40-T temperature sensor on Alarm.com
Note
: This will remove the device from the Z-Wave network.- Remove the battery door and tap the tamper switch three times in a row.
- Press and hold the tamper switch for 10 seconds until the LED starts flashing. Then release to reset it to default.
- After the tamper switch is released, the LED will blink quickly and then turn solid for three seconds indicating that the device is resetting.
How to enroll the ADC-S40-T temperature sensor on Alarm.com
- Open the customer app.
- Tap an icon with three horizontal lines (hamburger menu).
- TapAdd Device.
- Tap on the type of device you want to install (e.g. Lock, Lighting and Appliance Control, etc.).
- Follow the prompts to enroll the Z-Wave device.
Note
: The specific steps may vary slightly depending on the version of the app being used. Once the device is successfully added, it should appear on the app within five minutes.How to replace the battery on the ADC-S40-T temperature sensor
This sensor contains a user replaceable coin cell battery (CR2450). If the sensor has reported a low battery or is not illuminating the front LED when the sensor is slid open, replace the battery.
Important
: Prior to replacing the battery, please read the coin cell battery notices in the section before this one.- Slide the ADC-S40-T open. The LED should turn on and then off within a few seconds.
- Remove the screw.
- Replace the battery with one CR2450 coin cell battery. Then replace the screw.
- Slide the door back into place. The LED on the front cover will blink to indicate the sensor has powered on.
Coin cell battery disposal, safety guidelines and rules
- Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of used batteries according to local regulations and keep away from children. Do not dispose of batteries in household trash or incinerate.
- Even used batteries may cause severe injury or death.
- Call a local poison control centre for treatment information.
- The S40-T is compatible with CR2450 batteries only. Do not use any other type of battery with the sensor.
- Nominal battery voltage is 3.0 Volts.
- Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Do not force discharge, recharge, disassemble, heat above 140 degrees Fahrenheit (60 degrees Celsius) or incinerate. Doing so may result in injury due to venting, leakage or explosion leading to chemical burns. Consult the manufacturer's specified temperature rating if you use a battery brand other than what was included with the sensor.
- Ensure the batteries are installed correctly according to polarity (+ and -).
- Do not mix old and new batteries, different brands or types of batteries, such as alkaline, carbon-zinc or rechargeable batteries. The S40-T should use lithium CR2450 only.
- Remove and immediately recycle or dispose of batteries from equipment not used for an extended period of time according to local regulations.
- Always completely secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries and keep them away from children.
FCC rules
This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

Industry Canada (IC) regulations
Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only operate using an antenna of a type and maximum (or lesser) gain approved for the transmitter by Industry Canada. To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that necessary for successful communication.
