How do I change the Master Code on my keypad?
Below are the steps to change the Master Code on your panel:
ADT Command Panel
- Select the Tools icon
- Enter Master User Code
- Select Users icon
- To assign a user or revise a User Code, select the desired option then select Edit or Add new
- Select Name and assign a personal name to this user. Select Save
*The default User description is displayed.
- Select User Code to assign a 4-digit code to this user
- Assign 4-digit code to this user and select Save
- Select the applicable Partitions for this user (if applicable)
- Select Authority level (if applicable)
- Select Authority level for this user (if applicable). Select Save
Ademco, Honeywell, First Alert
- Enter 4-digit Master Code _ _ _ _
- Press 8
- Press 0 2
- Enter new 4-digit Master Code two times
DSC Classic Series (1550, 2550, 3000)
- Press * (asterisk key)
- Press 5
- Enter 4-digit Master Code _ _ _ _
- Press 1
- Enter new 4-digit Master Code
- Press # (pound key)
DSC Power Series (1555, 5010, 864, 1832, 1864, Envoy, Alexor, Neo)
- Press * (asterisk key)
- Press 5
- Enter 4-digit Master Code _ _ _ _
- Press 4 0
- Enter new 4-digit Master Code
- Press # (pound key)
GE Simon Systems 1, 2 and 3
- Open Panel (cover on keypad)
- Use red numbered keys and follow voice prompts
- Enter 4-digit Master Code _ _ _ _
- Press Add
- Press Access Code
- Panel will respond with "Master Code, press again for next access code or Done to select or Cancel to quit"
- Press Done
- Enter new 4-digit Master Code
- Panel will repeat code
- Close cover
GE Simon XT
- Scroll to System programming and press Enter
- Enter the 4-digit Master Code and press Enter
- Scroll to Access Codes and press Enter
- Scroll to Master Code and press Enter
- The current value of the code will flash on the display
- Enter a new 4-digit Master Code and press Enter
- Press Status repeatedly to exit
GE Simon XTi
- Press the gear icon
- Use the down arrow until System programming is displayed and select
- Enter the Master Code then select OK
- Select Access Codes and press on white field next to current code
- Enter the new Master Code
- Select Save and press Close to return to main menu
GE Allegro
- Press 8
- Enter Primary Code
- Press # (pound key)
- Press # (pound key) again to display current code
- Enter new Primary Code
- Press # (pound key) to accept
- Press * (asterisk key) until Exit is displayed and press # (pound key) to confirm

- Press 9
- Enter Master Code _ _ _ _
- Press * (asterisk key)
- Enter 0 2 0
- Enter new Master Code
- Press # (pound key)
- Press * (asterisk key)

- Scroll to page 2 of the Home Screen
- Select Tools
- Enter 4-digit Master Code
- Select Users
- Select Master
- Enter new Master Code
- Press Save
What happens when I press the panic button or fire alarm button on the keypad?
If you hold the panic button or fire alarm button on the keypad for 1 to 3 seconds, an alarm is transmitted to the monitoring centre and emergency services are dispatched immediately.
This kind of alarm cannot be cancelled.
