How do I change the temperature format?
How do I adjust the smart thermostat's heat and cool setpoint ranges?
How do I create or edit a thermostat temperature alert notification?
My Z-Wave remote temperature sensor is in “malfunction” or offline mode. What should I do?
How do I change the thermostat mode?
How do I change the name of a thermostat?
How do I edit a thermostat Schedule?
To change the thermostat Schedule Type and number of set point intervals:
To change the temperature setting (i.e., Away, Home, Sleep, Custom, etc.) an interval is set to, tap the
Temperature setting interval
and then tap the desired temperature setting to change it to.
If Custom is selected:
To adjust the target temperature of a temperature setting (i.e., Away, Home, Sleep):
To change the time of the scheduled intervals:
How do I turn a thermostat schedule on or off?
How do I enable or disable thermostat lock?
The Thermostat Lock option locks all physical control of the thermostat so that it can only be changed from a computer or mobile device. A partial lock allows setpoint changes, but prevents mode changes on the thermostat.
How do I view thermostat activity patterns?
How do I create a thermostat fan schedule?
Thermostat Fan Schedules are used to automatically control the HVAC fan in your home to help save on energy costs while you are away and keep you comfortable while you are home or asleep.
How do I enable or disable a thermostat fire safety rule?
To prevent the circulation of smoke and poisonous gas or potential HVAC system damage, a thermostat Fire Safety rule automatically turns off the HVAC system if a fire or carbon monoxide alarm is reported.
How do I change thermostat temperature swing settings?
The thermostat temperature swing is the number of degrees above (for cooling) and below (for heating) the target setpoint the HVAC system allows the temperature to fluctuate before cycling back on.
Example
: If the swing is set to three degrees, and the system is in Heat Mode with a setpoint of 24°C, the thermostat waits until the in-home temperature is 21°C before heating the home back to 24°C. This results in the thermostat running fewer but longer cycles, which is generally considered to be more energy-efficient than running frequent shorter cycles, as you would see with a swing of one degree or less.
How do I create a Sensor Left Open Energy Saver rule?
A Sensor Left Open Energy Saver rule can adjust a thermostat's setpoint or mode if a door, window or other sensor is left open for a specified duration.
To add notification recipients:
How do I use a temperature sensor with the thermostat?
Select one or more Temperature Sensors to directly control your HVAC system when there’s no thermostat schedule set. The HVAC system monitors the average temperature reported by the selected sensors and keeps the average steady at the target temperature.
Example
: If the nighttime target temperature is 20°C, and all bedroom Temperature Sensors are selected, then the average of temperature across the bedrooms are maintained at 20°C.
How to add Temperature Sensors to thermostat schedules
Make thermostat schedules even more precise by assigning one or more Temperature Sensors to the Temperature Presets.
Example
: Match the bedroom Temperature Sensor to the Sleep Preset, or the family room Temperature Sensor to the Home Preset. When you set up Temperature Sensors this way, the system can cool the right rooms in the house to the target temperature at the times they are in use.
