Go to your Optik TV and tune to channel 9098 to identify the device name of your Optik TV digital box
On the Alexa app on your mobile device, review the TELUS Terms of Service & Privacy Policy. Select Allow
After Alexa automatically searches for devices in your house, choose the Optik TV serial number that matches the one found on channel 9098 to connect
Choose the Amazon Alexa device you want to connect your digital box to and select Link devices
Give your Optik digital box a nickname. Select Devices on the bottom right. Next, click All devices. Select the Optik TV digital box you have just connected in step 9, and click Edit name to assign a new name
Pro-tip: Keep it short and simple. This is how you will tell Amazon which digital box to command. For example, nickname one box "Living room TV" and another "Bedroom TV" and say, "Alexa, search for Stranger Things on Living room TV."

Need help?
Try the following tips to quickly troubleshoot:
- Say the command differently or be more specific. Try using a different verb or say the nickname of the digital box (i.e. instead of saying "Alexa, show me the news," try saying "Alexa, tune to CNN on Living Room TV")
- A good command to use for troubleshooting is a number-based channel tune: “Alexa, tune to channel 101 on <device nickname>”
- Ensure you specify the device nickname at the end of your command ("Alexa, show me Brad Pitt on Living Room TV")
- Ensure your smart speaker device is on the same network as your Optik TV devices (i.e. your home Wi-Fi network)
- Check the Wi-Fi connection. Ask your device “Alexa, what’s the weather today?" to easily confirm if it is connected to the Internet
- Visit Amazon device help to troubleshoot your device
