An ONT restart may help if some of your devices cannot connect to the internet
If you are on fibre, identify which type of Optical Network Terminal you have. It will be either a NOKIA ONT (resembling a cable modem) or a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) module that plugs into the SFP port on newer TELUS modems.
To restart your ONT, there is a black on/off button, located directly beside the black power cord and on the same side as all the other wired connections. Press the button to turn off, wait 10 seconds then press the button again to turn it back on.
When the ONT is turning off, you may notice the equipment’s lights go out, signaling the device has fully powered off.
When booting the ONT back up, the lights will take approximately 3-5 minutes to fully come back on. The PWR, MGMT, NTWK and DATA1 should all have green lights for internet customers, as well as the POTS light if a home phone is connected over fibre.
Once the appropriate green lights are all back on, the ONT is fully done booting back up.
