Managing Boost Wi-Fi with My Wi-Fi App
Read on to know how to get the most out of your Boost Wi-Fi.
Pause Wi-Fi on your Boost Wi-Fi network
To pause (or resume) Wi-Fi on your Boost Wi-Fi network, follow these instructions:
- Open the My Wi-Fi app
- In the Overview tab, select Pause Wi-Fi in the upper right-hand corner. This will also pause the Wi-Fi connection to any device further connected from your Boost Wi-fi. Note: If you subscribe to Optik TV, it will continue to work even after your pause Wi-Fi
- In order to turn your Boost Wi-Fi network back on, select Pause Wi-Fi in the upper right-hand corner of the homepage and then unpause the desired Boost or device
Change your Boost Wi-Fi’s LED brightness
To change the brightness of your Wi-Fi Boost’s LED status light to your preference, follow these instructions:
- Open the My Wi-Fi app
- From the Overview page, enter the top-right menu
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi Boost settings
- Select LED brightness
- Select the desired brightness (either Off, Medium or High). Changes will be saved automatically and updated right away
- In the "Off" mode, the LED will not show any status unless there is a problem, at which time the LED will turn back on to show that status
Change your Wi-Fi network name and password
To change your Wi-Fi network name and password, follow these instructions:
- Open the My Wi-Fi app
- Navigate to the Wi-Fi tab
- Select Edit
- Change your Wi-Fi network name or password to your new desired network name or password. Select Save
- If you are prompted, enter the admin password present on the back of your Boost Wi-Fi that is connected to your modem. If you have entered the admin password for your Boost Wi-Fi system previously, you will not be asked to re-enter it
Note: Once you change your Wi-Fi network name or password, you will need to reconnect all of your Wi-Fi connected devices using the new network settings. This includes mobile devices, printers, tablets, etc.
