Enable TELUS Internet and Optik TV with TELUS QuickConnect
Instructions on activating TELUS services after your home is TELUS QuickConnect-enabled
What is TELUS QuickConnect?
TELUS QuickConnect gives residents the ability to activate Optik TV and Internet services themselves without a technician visit. This unlocks benefits such as:
- Same-day activation
- No installation appointment
- Ability to upgrade services easily with our self-install packages
- Access to Remote Technician Support to complete self-install at 1-855-788-0266
Important: To get started, please call 1-855-277-0619 and get exclusive rates when you order your TELUS home services.
Step 1: Activate TELUS QuickConnect
- Call 1-855-277-0619 to activate TELUS QuickConnect and to also get exclusive rates when you order your home services
- Your internet will be activated within minutes
- Once your wireless TV boxes are delivered, you can activate your Optik TV
Note: You can activate your TELUS QuickConnect services 7 days a week within the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (PT)
- Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (PT)
Step 2: Enable your TELUS Internet
- Locate your white TELUS enclosure
- Open the enclosure door using the 2 tabs on the right-side of the door. Locate the power bar at the bottom of the enclosure and turn off the power bar switch. Wait 10 seconds and turn the power bar switch back on. Wait approximately 60 seconds to ensure a successful connection has occurred. A successful connection occurs when you see a solid green light on the white TELUS modem

- Connect your device(s) to your Wi-Fi network. The default Wi-Fi network name and password are located under the top cover of the white TELUS modem
Note: If the top cover on the TELUS white modem is not already open, press down on the top cover to reveal the default WiFi name and password.
- Connect your device to the default WiFi network name using the default password and download the TELUS My Wi-Fi app to personalize your Wi-Fi network name and password
TELUS My Wi-Fi app
The TELUS My Wi-Fi app allows you to get the best out of your advanced Wi-Fi modem. Using the My Wi-Fi app, you can manage, pause Wi-Fi for individual devices, change your Wi-Fi network name and password and see what devices are connected to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 3: Check if you already have a pre-installed TELUS PVR Drive
Please use the pictures below to check if your enclosure has a pre-installed TELUS PVR Drive or not.
After confirming which enclosure represents your current setup, please proceed to step 4.
- With a pre-installed TELUS PVR Drive:
- Without a pre-installed TELUS PVR Drive:
Note: Your TELUS PVR Drive and wireless TV boxes should have been shipped to your residence. If they have not been shipped and you require assistance, please call TELUS Technician Remote Support at 1-855-788-0266.

Step 4: Enable your Optik TV (with a pre-installed TELUS PVR Drive)
With the TELUS PVR Drive already pre-installed, you will only need to install your TELUS wireless TV box(s) that were shipped to your residence. Follow the steps below to enable your Optik TV service.
- Open the enclosure door using the 2 tabs on the right side of the door. Locate the PVR Drive power cord and unplug from the device and wait 10 seconds. Plug the power cord back in to the PVR Drive
- Place your wireless TV box at your TV location and plug in the wireless TV box power cord
- Connect the provided HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the TV wireless box to your TV’s HDMI input. Power on your TV and select the corresponding HDMI input
- Next, install the provided batteries in your Optik remote
- Your TV should display Wireless Pairing Step 1 (this could take approx 2-3 minutes to appear on your TV)
- Press the OK button on your TELUS remote when prompted on the screen
- After pressing the OK button on the TELUS remote, you will see the screen as shown below
- Return to the enclosure and press the WPS button for 10 seconds on the white TELUS modem, as shown in the pictures below

Note: Pressing the WPS button needs to occur within 30 seconds of pressing the OK button on the TELUS remote. If 30 seconds have elapsed before pressing the WPS button, then unplug the power cord from the TELUS wireless tv box and wait for your TV to display Wireless Pairing Step 1.
- After pressing the WPS button on the white TELUS modem, return to your TV location
- Press the OK button on the Optik remote when your TV displays the Success registration message
- The registration has completed successfully. Press OK to reboot
Note: The TELUS wireless TV box requires up to 5 minutes to update.
Repeat the process for any additional TELUS TV wireless box(s).
- After you have successfully connected all your wireless TV boxes, return to the enclosure and locate the PVR Drive power cord again
- Unplug the power cord from the PVR Drive and wait 10 seconds
- Plug the power cord back into the PVR Drive. The PVR Drive will be ready when you see the following message: Press the OK button on your remote to browse recordings
Note: If the bottom of the screen shows Recordings Unavailable, please repeat step 12.

Step 4: Enable your Optik TV (without a pre-installed TELUS PVR Drive)
The PVR Drive will be mounted in the enclosure using the supplied velcro straps and pre-installed black and grey PVR Drive saddles.
Please follow the steps below to install your 4K PVR Drive and enable your Optik TV service.
- Thread the included velcro strap through the PVR Drive saddles
- Place your PVR Drive in the enclosure. The PVR should rest on the black and grey PVR saddles on the bottom of the enclosure (this ensures proper ventilation so the box won’t overheat)
- Secure the PVR Drive to the enclosure with the velcro strap
- Plug the cat5e cable into the network port on the PVR Drive and LAN 1 on the white TELUS modem
- Plug the power cord into the power bar and the PVR Drive
With the PVR Drive now installed, you can begin to self-install your wireless TV box(s). To set up your wireless TV box(s), please continue with the steps below.
- Place your wireless TV box at your TV location and plug in the wireless TV box power cord
- Connect the provided HDMI cable from the HDMI port on the TV wireless box to your TV’s HDMI input
- Power on your TV and select the corresponding HDMI input
- Next, install the provided batteries in your Optik remote
- Your TV should display Wireless Pairing Step 1 (this could take approx 2 to 3 minutes to appear on your TV)
- Press the OK button on your TELUS remote when prompted on the screen
- After pressing the OK button on the TELUS remote, you will see the screen as shown below
- Return to the enclosure and press the WPS button for 10 seconds on the white TELUS modem, as shown in the picture below

- After pressing the WPS button on the white TELUS modem, return to your TV location
- Press the OK button on the Optik remote when your TV displays the Success registration message
Note: The TELUS wireless TV box requires up to 5 minutes to update.
Repeat the process for any additional TELUS TV wireless box(s).
- After you have successfully connected all your wireless TV boxes, return to the enclosure and locate the PVR Drive power cord again
- Unplug the power cord from the PVR Drive and wait 10 seconds
- Plug the power cord back into the PVR Drive. The PVR Drive will be ready when you see the following message: Press the OK button on your remote to browse recordings
Note: If the bottom of the screen shows Recordings Unavailable, please repeat step 16.
