TELUS is looking for an experienced Senior Community Investment Manager based in North Carolina/ or Missouri to support US growth of the Community Giving portfolio in partnership with TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate citizenship strategy, corporate volunteer programs, strong business experience and acumen and a deep knowledge of the charitable sector. As part of our dynamic Corporate Citizenship team you will report to the Senior Program Manager, Community Investment in Canada, who is responsible for creating and executing our global Community Board strategy and acquisition community integration.
Here’s how
- Represent TELUS and TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods to internal and external audiences from a community giving perspective.
- Play a leadership role in the progression of TELUS’ corporate citizenship strategy in the United States.
- Lead strategic giving in the United States including:
- Management of all activities associated with the successful operations of the TELUS North Carolina Community Board and subsequent Community Boards across the United States, including supporting board meetings and associated administrative functions; the sourcing of innovative granting projects; and supporting the local board succession planning process;
- Support and activate our regional funding strategy across the United States;
- Drive team engagement by managing the local execution of global initiatives such as TELUS Days of Giving, Team TELUS Cares campaigns and supporting the work of the TELUS Community Ambassadors across the United States;
- Support and activate TELUS Days of Giving and team member engagement programs in active regions across the United States; and
- Activate humanitarian relief campaigns in region;
- Support of TELUS charitable activities and events in the community when required.
- Support business enablement including:
- Collaborate with the business units identifying new business development opportunities and sharing charitable sector expertise;
- Support all philanthropic go to market activities including those of our regional marketing teams to identify partners for cause marketing initiatives and manage all associated charitable relationships; and
- Support corporate priorities including the project management of philanthropic initiatives.
What you bring to the role
- A superior “customers first” business professional experienced in working with all levels, especially executive-level, and developing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated understanding of strategic corporate philanthropy, employee engagement and corporate volunteerism, strong business acumen and understanding of the corporate environment and competitive landscape;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations, facilitate effective meetings and write with purpose;
- Strong project management skills, experience collaborating using G suite, and comfortable tackling the ambiguous;
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team and to deliver results in deadline driven environment;
- Ability to work with a virtual global team;
- Spanish language skills are an asset.
Required Experience and Education
Undergraduate degree in relevant field and/or 7+ years relevant business and/or senior level not-for-profit experience;
- Previous experience working with a board of directors and senior leaders.
