Extending the impact of Internet for Good during the COVID-19 pandemic

We have empowered Schools across Alberta and BC to extend our Internet for Good offer directly to families in need. If you have school-aged children and are in need of Internet access, please discuss your situation with your child’s teacher or Principal. The school Principal will be able to request codes from TELUS on behalf of families in need at their school.

Note that if you would like to apply directly to TELUS you will need to meet the criteria outlined in the eligibility section below.

Internet for Good

Internet for Good® provides thousands of low-income families in BC and Alberta with the tools and connectivity they need to succeed. Recipients must have children under the age of majority and be currently receiving the maximum Canada Child Benefit.

What’s included in the plans?

Option to purchase a low cost refurbished computer through BC Technology for Learning Society

No contract or cancellation fees

Access to free TELUS Wise® workshops and resources, empowering you to participate safely in our digital world

You can apply if you:

  • Receive the maximum Child Care Benefit

  • Can provide a recent Canada Child Benefit (CCB) statement showing your family net income of less than or equal to $31,120

Note: The Internet for Good account must be under the name of the individual named on page 1 of the CCB statement.

TELUS is participating in the Connecting Families Government of Canada program. If you received a letter with a unique access code, please visit connecting-families.ca to sign up.

If applying by mail, please include your full name, return address, and contact phone number. If you provide an email address, we can expedite our response to your application.

Please note: 

  • Documentation will be used for eligibility validation and then deleted or shredded. TELUS will be recording your name, mailing address, email (if applicable) and last four digits of a unique identifier. 

  • Individuals are encouraged to enlist the help of a friend, family member or case worker to apply on their behalf if necessary

What to expect after you apply

  • We will review and respond to all applications within 1 week

  • If approved, you will be sent a code and a TELUS call centre phone number to call to sign up

  • The call centre agent can help you sign up for the service or help existing customers who qualify for this program to migrate from their current plan
