How to install your Control Panel


Install your Control Panel (Gen 2) / Video installation instructions

To install your Control Panel, make sure you have the following in addition to the included equipment:
- Broadband internet connection with Wi-Fi router
- Wi-Fi network name and password
- Master code (will be used for arming and disarming your security system)


Install your Control Panel (Gen 2) / Pre-installation checklist

Before powering up the Control Panel, follow the step-by-step guide included inside the box to begin the installation of your Control Panel using the TELUS Secure Business app.

Follow the instructions in the mobile app. Once you have reached the step to install your Control Panel, you will be shown how to:
- Power up the panel
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network using the panel
- Conduct a system check using the panel

Choosing the location of your Control Panel is an important decision because the rest of the system will be designed and tested to work with the device in that location. Any movement of the Control Panel after the installation should be kept to a minimum.

Here are some tips for selecting the location of your Control Panel:
- Make sure this is a convenient location in your business - usually near the main entrance
- Your Control Panel should be in close proximity to a power outlet
- The location should be within Wi-Fi range

__Note__: If you are experiencing connectivity problems after your installation, double check your Control Panel has not been moved. If yes, make sure the panel is relocated back to the original location and see if this resolves your issues.

To install your Door and Window Sensors, make sure you have the following in addition to the included equipment:

__If this is the first time you are installing the TELUS Secure Business system__, before you install your sensors, make sure to follow the step-by-step guide included in the box first. After you complete these steps and successfully set up the Control Panel, you can then add more devices to your account.

If this is a new installation, you should follow the instructions included inside the box containing your equipment to initiate step-by-step guidance for installation in the TELUS Secure Business app.

To add a sensor to your security system, use your TELUS Secure Business app and follow these instructions here:

1. Log in to the __TELUS Secure Business app__ on your mobile device.
2. Select __More__ at the bottom right-hand corner.

4. Select __Security__.

5. Select your device and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

### I'm unable to add the sensor to my TELUS Secure Business system

If you are unable to add the Door and Window sensor, try resetting your sensor by removing the cover of the device. Next, press and hold the __round button__ in the middle of the circuit board for approximately 10 seconds until the LED starts flashing red. This will reset the device and you can now re-add your sensor.

### Where should I install my Door and Window Sensor?

Your Door and Window Sensor should be placed on non-metallic doors or frames only. Metallic doors or frames can cause interference between the sensor and the Control Panel and is not recommended.

A Door and Window Sensor should be located inside your business premises on a clean surface area. Make sure you wipe the location before installing your sensor.

### How do I mount the Door and Window Sensor with the double-sided adhesive tape?

1. ### How do I mount the Door and Window Sensor with screws?

1. Insert a coin in the slot and twist to remove the cover. Installing your Motion Sensor / Installing your Motion Sensor using the mobile app

### I am unable to add the sensor to my TELUS Secure Business Security system

If you are unable to add your Motion Sensor (i.e. you tried adding the sensor multiple times already or more than 30 minutes has passed since removing the battery tab), try resetting your sensor by removing the cover of the device. Next, press and hold the yellow button that is next to the battery for about 10 seconds until the LED starts flashing red. This will reset the device and you can now re-add your sensor.

### Where should I install my Motion Sensor?

Your Motion Sensor should be installed on a clean surface area inside your business premises. Make sure you wipe the location before installing your sensor. Other best practices include:

- Keeping the sensor away from heat sources, air drafts and direct sunshine.
- The sensor should be mounted on a solid stable surface.
- The sensor will work at operating temperatures between -10° to 50°C.

### How do I install a pet shield for my Motion Sensor?

The Motion Sensor has a built-in pet shield that can ignore motions from pets that weigh up to 38 kg (85 lbs). If you have pets, leave the pet shield attached.
