TELUS is proud to recognize National Indigenous History Month by learning together and connecting in community. From virtual events to volunteering at pow wows to watching Indigenous-led content, we will be celebrating the diversity of Indigenous cultures and ways of knowing together all throughout June.
Join us in this spirit of respectful learning—seek out Indigenous voices this month, support Indigenous creators and businesses and take time to reflect on the lands you live on.
Local powwows and events
Throughout May and June, TELUS team members have found ways to support events hosted by local Indigenous communities. Many have volunteered for a powwow or signed up to help amplify the events across TELUS and our partner networks. From the
Waskiptan event
in Joliette, Quebec to the Kamloopa Powwow
in B.C., we are excited to hear how team members are showing up in their communities while learning along the way.Find a powwow to support or attend near you by visiting

Eagles, TELUS’ employee resource group for Indigenous team members and their allies, is hosting a virtual event with Shawna K. Serniak, a woman of Métis Scottish and Ukrainian descent.
Based on the Cherokee legend of two inner wolves, Shawna explores the art of living a balanced life by recognizing both our darker and lighter impulses. She reveals practical strategies for breaking negative patterns, building healthier habits and finding your authentic self—all grounded in her own transformative journey through hardship.
Eagles is grateful for Shawna’s generosity in sharing her teachings and time with the TELUS team through this event.
