Business Connect Mobile App User Guide

Overview


The TELUS Business Connect® Mobile solution is a professional app for smartphones and tablets that automatically greets callers and connects them to your mobile team. It’s a smarter way to connect to your customers.

Multiple levels of access provide administrator roles with complete system access, and standard user roles, such as employees and the ability to manage both business calls and voicemails. The TELUS Business Connect Mobile solution meets the needs of those who want to be on the go or simply want to move away from a standard office desk phone.

**Please note that before installing the mobile app, you must complete the Quick Setup in Voice Manager for all users. Please see the TELUS Business Connect Mobile solution Onboarding Guide.

NOTE: Mobile app is only available on iOS and Android.

Installing the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app


iOS

  1. On your mobile device, launch the App Store
  2. Type TELUS Business Connect in the search bar
  3. Select app
  4. Tap GET
  5. Enter your Apple password (if required), then tap OK

You have now installed the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app on your iOS device.

Android

  1. On your mobile device, launch the Google Play Store
  2. In the search bar, type TELUS Business Connect
  3. Select app
  4. Click on Install
  5. Enter your Google password (if required), then tap Install

You have now installed the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app on your Android device.

Logging into your TELUS Business Connect Mobile app


  1. Launch the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app from your device screen
  2. Click on Sign in
  3. Enter your extension email or phone number and click on__ Next__

Note: If you are signing in with the main Toll-Free number, you must add your direct extension number when you click next.

  1. Enter the user password that was created during the Quick Setup (See our onboarding guide if not completed yet)
  2. Click on Sign in
  3. Accept the 911 disclaimer
  4. View tutorial
  5. Enter your mobile number in the required field, and press __Next __
  6. Click on Allow to send notifications
  7. Click on Ok to allow access to your contacts
  8. Click OK to allow access to the microphone

You are now ready to start making and receiving calls.

Please note that once the initial log in is completed you can easily log back in at any time using steps 1 to 5 only.


Active Call Controls

Mute turns off your microphone, eliminating background noise from your side of the call, and it may provide better incoming sound from the other party

Keypad allows you to dial a number or press numeric inputs to access a certain department or queue

Speaker gives you the option to use any of your audio sources. The most common audio sources for a mobile device are the headset and the internal speakers

Call actions lets you access the advanced calling features

Hold puts the other party on the line on hold until you tap it again to undo the action

Add allows you to add another caller for a 3 way call

End call button.


All regularly used functions can be found at the bottom of the screen

Recents View Call Log

Tap the Line you wish to call back or to see more details of the call or add options click on the time stamp next to the number
Call
Message
Create new Contact
Add to Existing Contact
Block Number
To delete the log, press and hold the number (note this will not delete the log from the Voice Manager)

Voicemail

Tap on the line you wish to listen to, to bring up the Play Voicemail menu.
Tap the arrow to return to the Message list

Text

(Note: in order to SMS to outside phone numbers, you must have a direct phone number assigned to your extension)

To view/reply to a new Incoming SMS or previous SMS thread, tap on the name of the sender in the messages list.

Tap < to return to the Message list

Sending a text

Note: MMS to outside Business Connect and Telus numbers are not supported at this time.

Android

  • Tap the green text icon on the bottom right
  • Enter contact info and text
  • Tap the right arrow next to the text box to send

iOS

View

  • Tap the fax you wish to view
  • To forward click the square and arrow icon on the top right of the downloaded fax
  • Press the left arrow to return to the fax page

Send

  • Tap the + sign on the top right of the screen > New fax
  • Enter or search for the contact information
  • Select cover page
  • Add attachment
  • Tap Send

Video Camera

Tap the video camera icon to launch, join or schedule a video meeting from your mobile phone

Phone/KeyPad. Make a call

Tap “From” to quickly switch Outbound caller ID option on a per call basis. To change the default, please see the App Settings.

Contacts. View Business, Personal and Favourite contacts

Tap on All Contacts to switch between Company, Personal or Favorites
Tap the + sign to add a contact

Conference Call

Android

Tap the four circle icon on the top right corner and select Invite or Start conference
To invite, select between email or text invite

iOS

Tap the + sign icon on the top right > New conference
To invite, select between email or text invite

More iOS

Tap on More to view Park Locations and Admin tools

To view Park Locations and Admin tools on Android, click the 3 horizontal lines on the top left of the screen.

Contacts. View Business, Personal and Favourite contacts

Tap on All Contacts to switch between Company, Personal or Favorites
Tap the + sign to add a contact

KeyPad. Make a call

Tap the From to quickly switch Outbound caller ID option on a per call basic. To change the default, please see App Settings.

Mobile App Settings/My Profile


To get to the My Profile setup menus,

iOS

  • Click on the circle in the upper left corner of the screen

Android

  • Click on the three horizontal lines on the top left corner of the screen > settings

In the App Settings/My Profile section, you will find the following

Status

The Status feature allows you to open your line to accept calls or set your line as busy or invisible. Follow these steps to change your activity status on the TELUS Business Connect Mobile app.

  1. Tap Status to change your status.
  • Available: This will allow you to take incoming calls for your extension
  • Do Not Disturb: Any calls will connect immediately to your voicemail.
  • Busy: You can choose not to receive calls from a Call Queue. You can still receive notifications and calls going directly to your extension as long as you enable Accept Call queue calls.
  • Invisible: Other users will not see whether you are Busy or Available.

When you set your Status to Busy or Invisible refer to comment above regarding Invisible, you can choose not to receive calls from a Call Queue. You can still receive notifications and calls going directly to your extension as long as you enable Accept Call queue calls.

NOTE: Your Availability Status is automatically applied immediately to your extension after tapping Done.

Android

Notifications

  • Toggle on or off the call, text and fax notifications

Video

  • Personal meeting ID: Tap to view your meeting ID and advanced meeting options
  • Audio and Video: Toggle on or off advanced video options
  • Host key: Used to log in as host for meetings

Phone

  • Silence incoming calls: Silence all incoming calls
  • Incoming call handling: Add, remove or change ring length based off phone model
  • Incoming call ringtone: Personalize ringtone audio
  • Calling mode: Select between Direct dial and Ring Out modes
  • Direct dial data: Select between using mobile data, wifi or carrier minutes for calls
  • Default caller ID: Select the main outbound caller ID
  • Call back Caller ID: Select between the default caller ID or the number from the call logs
  • Region: Default area code used for D11 calling
  • Android phone number
  • Extension settings: Quick access menu to your extension settings
  • Emergency address: Add or update your deskphone E911 address

Calendar sync

  • Select calendar to sync with mobile app

Accept queue calls

  • Toggle on to be able to accept calls to your direct extension but not through queues

Admin Tools

Admin tools are available for users with Admin status.

Android

  • Click on the three horizontal lines on the top left corner > Admin tools

iOS

Click on More on the bottom right of the screen > Admin tools

These admin tools include

Company call logs: View full company call log
Phone system: Access company greetings, IVR menus, call queues and more.
Analytics: View usage, performance reports and more
Calling rates: Enabled international calling and view per minute calling rates.
