If your community initiative meets our funding criteria, it may be eligible for funding.
Applications
We put community funding in the hands of local leaders to support programs that best meet our vision and clearly demonstrate the following criteria:
Organization is an 501(c)(3) registered organization located and operating in North Carolina
Project or program for funding request has a stated focus on serving youth in under-resourced communities
Single year grant funding, up to $10,000 USD
Maximum of one application per calendar year
Preference is given for technology, education, health, environment and/or agriculture programs that make a positive impact in their local communities
Community-based programs of religious organizations must be able to demonstrate a history of non-denominational participation by the broader community
If funded, the organization agrees to announce the award to its respective audiences through communication channels

Ebony A. Burt (Chair)
Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Wells Fargo
Ebony A. Burt is Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Wells Fargo. She is focused on increasing diverse representation at all levels of the company and creating a more inclusive workplace environment across the globe. With approximately 261,000 team members, Ebony is responsible for shaping the internal diversity, equity and inclusion strategy to continuously improve engagement, drive a people first culture where every person can thrive. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ebony was the President of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation. She led the company’s philanthropic strategy and Signature programs Neighborhood Builders®, Neighborhood Champions and Student Leaders®, which recognize the community leadership and service of non-profit organizations and students across the US. To date, these programs have supported more than 1,400 local non-profits, the leadership development of 2,800 non-profit executives and workforce development of nearly 4,000 students. Ebony is also responsible for Better Money Habits Champions, which supports the company’s purpose to improve financial lives and economic mobility. Ebony also led Bank of America’s five-year racial equality commitment to accelerate work that addresses barriers to economic mobility for people and communities of colour. As part of this work, she led the investment of $430 million to more than 130 private equity funds to provide capital to diverse entrepreneurs and small business owners. Burt also helped develop the bank's Signature Jobs initiative to create livable wage jobs for students at historically black colleges and universities, hispanic-serving institutions and community colleges across the country. She serves as a national board member for Disability:IN and the Board of Visitors for the School of Business at North Carolina A&T State University. Her service to these organizations is rooted in her commitment to transform approaches to student achievement, career success and improving generational socioeconomic status in underserved communities. She is a proud graduate of North Carolina A&T State University where she holds a BA degree in English and History.
