Luis Felix-Angulo, IAZ

Luis Felix-Angulo is a distinguished agronomist engineer specializing in animal production, feedlot designs, feedlot operations and economics, process optimization, and quality control. He earned his degree as an Agronomist Engineer, specializing in Animal Production, from Monterrey Tech in Mexico.

In December 2011, Luis joined TELUS Agriculture, formerly Feedlot Health Management Services (FHMS), as a Feedlot Nutritional and Production Consultant. His role involves developing and following up on projects and business opportunities across Canada, the United States, Mexico, China, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Brazil, and other countries. These projects are related to beef programs, cattle production systems, custom feeding programs, quality assurance programs, and the analysis of bio-economic models.

Luis provides consulting services for beef boxed branding programs, production costs, cut-out yields, beef production programs, and feeding cattle in North America, considering specific circumstances in different locations, environments, and markets. He also maintains business and personal relationships with current and prospective clients, conducts feedlot feasibility studies, and designs and implements feedlots in various countries, including Mongolia, China, Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Nicaragua.

Throughout his career, Luis has had the opportunity to work for prestigious international companies in different sectors, which has helped him develop both a specific technical approach and a broad scope for business analysis. His experience spans banking, large vertically integrated beef production systems (from cattle buying stations to feedlots, packing plants, beef boxed and added value products), and retail store chains, where he served as the director of the animal protein business for the meats (beef, pork, and poultry), seafood, and delicatessen departments.

Luis's extensive knowledge and experience in feedlot operations and economics, combined with his expertise in process optimization and quality control, make him a valuable asset to TELUS Agriculture and the broader animal production community. His work is characterized by a strong emphasis on applied research and the use of statistical and economic modeling to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of beef cattle production.
