The TELUS Wise Digital Content Safety Seal is your visual assurance that the content your child is viewing has an added layer of review that goes beyond standard content ratings, designed for safe, educational and community-minded viewing for your kids.

Raising the standard for children’s programming

While many platforms rely solely on standard content ratings, the TELUS Wise Digital Content Safety Seal represents an additional layer of review created specifically for TELUS STORYHIVE Kids TV and family audiences. Content represented on TELUS STORYHIVE Kids TV:

• Canadian stories with local impact. We showcase content that reflects the diverse experiences, cultures and perspectives shaping communities across Canada, with a focus on voices and stories rooted in British Columbia and Alberta.
• Community-centred storytelling. From neighbourhood stories to community initiatives and cultural experiences, our programming is designed to help kids feel connected to the world around them and inspired to participate in their communities.
• Educational and enriching content. We support engaging, age-appropriate programming that sparks curiosity and learning across several subject areas, including science, technology, arts and culture, nature and everyday life skills.

Content not permitted on TELUS STORYHIVE Kids TV:

• Bullying, violence and physical aggression
• Drugs, alcohol and smoking
• Political or ideological content
• Sexual content and nudity
• Sensitive or triggering subject matter
• Underage risky behaviour

How TELUS Wise Digital Content Safety Seal content is reviewed

All content displaying the TELUS Wise Digital Content Safety Seal undergoes multiple layers of review throughout the TELUS STORYHIVE Kids TV process, including:

1. Application and concept review: each STORYHIVE Kids TV application is reviewed by TELUS STORYHIVE Program Managers and a funding moderation committee to ensure all proposed content is appropriate for your kids to watch. This includes reviewing written applications, pitch materials and overall creative concepts to confirm alignment with TELUS STORYHIVE Kids TV standards before projects move to production.
2. Episode review and creator feedback: Once a series has been approved for production, TELUS STORYHIVE Program Managers complete an end-to-end review of the first episode and provide feedback directly to creators before the series moves forward. This review ensures the series content will follow TELUS STORYHIVE Kids TV expectations for quality, storytelling and age-appropriate viewing before additional episodes are released.
3. Technical and content moderation: the TELUS Digital Moderation team reviews every second of content for quality, privacy considerations, broadcast standards, category accuracy and advisory content. Children’s programming approved for TELUS STORYHIVE Kids TV must meet G-rated standards and cannot include any themes considered inappropriate for young audiences.
4. Final production quality checks: before content is published on TELUS Optik TV and STORYHIVE Kids TV YouTube channel, all programming undergoes a final review by the production team. This final quality check confirms that approved content meets technical specifications and platform standards before it’s made available for family viewing.
