Caring for communities with Rouge et Or.
Did you know that last year, TELUS gave back 5% ($90M) of its pre-tax profits to the community? As the world’s most generous company, we know that our long-time philosophy of “We give where we live” continues to inspire.
In Quebec City
In Quebec City in particular, TELUS has been a proud partner of Université Laval’s Rouge et Or for the past 13 years. Through this partnership, TELUS strives to give back to youth in the Quebec City community through a variety of different initiatives.
$15,000 for Patro Roc-Amadour this year
During the 2023 football season at the TELUS-Université Laval stadium, TELUS is organizing a fun activity for Rouge et Or fans, inviting them to participate in the Bottez pour donner! initiative. At halftime of every game, three participants will be invited to kick a football. For every yard the football travels, TELUS will give $20 to the organization Patro Roc-Amadour, up to $15,000 in total.
Patro Roc-Amadour, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, is a community center that creates and animates an inclusive living environment that contributes to personal development through recreation, support and mutual aid, while encouraging the participation of youth, seniors and the more vulnerable.
$215,000 to the Fonds Rouge et Or so far
Since the start of its partnership with the Rouge et Or, TELUS has committed to donating $15,000 each year to the Fonds Rouge et Or via different fundraising and student athlete development activities.
Since 2022, TELUS is adding a new source of funding to the Fonds Rouge et Or by partnering with the 50/50 draw at home games. Through this partnership, TELUS will be able to donate an additional $10,000 to Fonds Rouge et Or each year.
The goal of the Fonds Rouge et Or is to support Université Laval’s objective of athletic excellence. More concretely, the Fonds Rouge et Or awards excellence scholarships to student athletes; financial support for developing the Rouge et Or clubs through coach salaries and payments for entry into sports competitions; assistance in developing new clubs; and the promotion and marketing of Rouge et Or clubs.
For the 2022 season, the 50-50 lottery raised $81,686 for the Fonds Rouge et Or. Let's hope fans will be just as generous and buy tickets in large numbers again this year.
$130,000 for standout students
Since the start of its partnership with the Rouge et Or, TELUS has awarded $10,000 each year to a student who receives Université Laval’s leadership and commitment scholarship.
With the leadership and commitment scholarship, Université Laval aims to support talented students throughout their university studies. The selected students demonstrate exceptional achievement in one of the six following categories: art, entrepreneurship, environment, science, social issues/humanities and sports.
