Mobility for Good
A collaboration between TELUS and Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada (CAFC) and select Centre de Jeunesse Foundations, Mobility for Good® helps youth aging out of care achieve independence by providing them with a free phone and a choice between a free or low-cost plan. This enables them to stay in touch with friends and vital support networks, search for somewhere to live, find education and job opportunities, and build credit.

Application information
You can apply if you:
- Have lived experience in the child welfare system and can produce a letter of eligibility completed on your behalf by a ministry/agency representative
- Are between the age of majority in the province where you currently reside (see below) and age 26 at the time of your application
• Age 18 in AB, MB, ON, P.E.I., QC, SK.
• Age 19 in B.C., N.B., N.L., N.W., N.S., NU, Y.T. - Meet the specific requirements of the province where you were in care:
British Columbia: Is eligible for The Strengthening Abilities and Journeys of Empowerment (SAJE) program, formerly known as the Agreement with Young Adults Program
What to expect after you apply
- We will review and respond to all applications within 1 week (response may be slower for mail in applications)
- If approved, you will be sent a code and information on how to order your phone and plan. If you cannot find the confirmation email in your inbox, please check your spam or junk mail folder.
- The phone and SIM card will be shipped directly to you.

Please note:
If you were in care in one province but have since moved to another province or territory, you are still eligible to apply as long as you are at the age of majority in the province where you currently reside.



Frequently Asked Questions
No. The mandatory credit check requires that you have reached the age of majority in the province that you reside in to apply for the program. However, youth will be approved for a TELUS account regardless of the credit check results.
At the end of two years, the price for your plan will change to $25 per month for the 3GB plan or $35 per month for the 10GB plan (plus applicable taxes). You can cancel the plan any time prior to when the change occurs without penalty. Any outstanding device balance owing or overage charges will be due upon cancellation.
Yes. You can use your own phone however it needs to be unlocked in order for you to receive service from TELUS.
We are unable to support specific device requests; available phones are older Android devices only and iPhones are not available. Free, refurbished Android smartphone models vary and are available while supplies last. Applicants are encouraged to bring their own phone. Alternatively, applicants can redeem a $75 discount off the purchase of a phone of their choice from

.If you have an existing contract with another cell phone provider, you can wait until your contract expires before you apply for this program, or you can pay the penalty fee for breaking your contract. Please verify any costs involved with your current cell phone provider prior to applying for this program.

You can apply if you:

- Documentation will be used for eligibility validation and then deleted or shredded. TELUS will be recording your name, mailing address, email (if applicable) and last four digits of a unique identifier.
- Individuals are encouraged to enlist the help of a friend, family member or case worker to apply on their behalf if necessary.

The price will change to the regular in-market price. You can cancel the service at any time prior to when the change occurs without penalty.
No. The Internet for Good price is only valid for the Internet for Good plan which includes speeds of up to 25 megabits per second (where available) and 300GB of monthly data5. Existing TELUS Internet customers who qualify for Internet for Good can migrate to this plan if they would like to take advantage of the $10 price point. Alternatively, eligible applicants can select Internet for Good with speeds of up to 50 megabits per second (where available) for $20/month or 150 megabits per second (where available) for $35/month. Both options include unlimited monthly data.
You can migrate to the Internet for Good plan if you would like. Early cancellation fees may apply if you received a Gift with Purchase and are still within the initial Service Agreement period. To learn more about any fees that you may be responsible for, please refer to your Service Agreement details which are available under the Profile section of your My TELUS account.
