Supporting those impacted by wildfires across Canada.
In response to the wildfires spreading throughout the country, TELUS is supporting those impacted through local relief efforts, mental health support and donations to affected areas across Canada.
What we are doing
- Offering 50 GB wireless data top-ups to evacuated TELUS and Koodo Mobile® post-paid customers to help them stay connected with loved ones.
- Crediting TELUS wireline home services bill for evacuated customers. This credit will automatically appear as a goodwill adjustment on an upcoming statement. Additionally, for customers experiencing severe structural damage, extended displacement, or long-term network impacts, we are temporarily pausing all wireline home service billing until impacted customers are safely able to return.
- Committing $2 million to network connectivity, data top-ups and bill credits for affected customers, and donations through@friendlyfuturefoundationto support impacted communities.
- Providing a free 24/7 TELUS Health® community crisis hotline (1-844-751-2133). By calling, individuals will receive professional emotional support and/or referral to community resources. This resource is available to anyone. This is in addition to support provided through the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helpline for eligible employees of our clients in Canada.
- Delivering adult and youth disaster relief kits with essential items to evacuation centres
- TELUS team members, retirees and TELUS Community Ambassadors are volunteering their time to support relief efforts and impacted communities
