Business Long Distance "BLD" Service Terms

Business Long Distance Service enables you to place and receive the long distance voice calls described in the Service Charges table using: (a) telephone lines for which TELUS is the primary long distance service provider, or (b) toll-free numbers for which TELUS is the responsible toll-free service provider for calls originating in North America and received in TELUS’ Canadian serving areas.

Other types of optional calls and calling features, such as collect calls, international calls and calls billed to another person, are available for use with the Business Long Distance Service.

The rates in the Service Charges table only apply to billing telephone numbers that you have confirmed to us. The charges will become effective on the date we implement the Business Long Distance Service.

You are responsible for use of the Business Long Distance Service, including any optional calls and calling features, by anyone using your devices or equipment, regardless of the location of the person using the services or the method the person used to access the service.

For each call, TELUS will bill for a minimum of 30 seconds. After the first 30 seconds of the call, TELUS will bill the call in six-second increments. For any call of one minute or less, TELUS will bill a minimum charge equal to 30 seconds multiplied by the rate per minute, or one cent, whichever is greater.

If you make any type of call or use a calling feature and a rate for that call type or calling feature is not stated in the Service Charges table, TELUS standard charge will apply. You may contact TELUS Operator Services or Customer Care for further information about optional features and call types at any time.

The Monthly Recurring Charge identified in the Service Charges table is based on your Estimated Annual Spend divided by months. You will be billed based on your actual Business Long Distance usage each month. Your commitment remains your Estimated Annual Spend.

Business Long Distance Service may not always work for data calls.

When your Business Long Distance Service is cancelled, TELUS calculates the service cancellation charge as 50% of your Estimated Annual Spend in the Service Charges table for each year and partial year remaining in the service period after cancellation. If you selected a one-year service period and the Estimated Annual Spend is $1,199.00 or less, the service cancellation charge is $100.

You must also pay a service cancellation charge if you replace any of the Business Long Distance Services with another service provider’s service.

TELUS will waive the service cancellation charge if:

(a) you replace the cancelled service with another TELUS service, and (b) the total service charges for the replacement service are greater than your total Estimated Annual Spend for the cancelled service for each year and partial year remaining in the service period after cancellation.
