DOCTORS AND NURSE PRACTITIONERS

Doctors and Nurse Practitioners with TELUS Health MyCare are experienced clinical professionals, qualified to practice Family Medicine in their province. They are registered with all relevant professional bodies, such as the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the various provincial regulatory colleges for Nurse Practitioners.

MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELLORS

Counsellors with TELUS Health MyCare have a minimum masters level education and are highly experienced. All hold at least one of these certifications:

Registered Social Worker (RSW) is a designation available to individuals with an accredited social work degree. RSWs adhere to a professional standard of practice that is regulated by the provincial College of Social Workers.

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) is a Canada-wide counselling designation that verifies a counsellor to be master's level and has undergone a specific number of supervised clinical hours.

Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) is a Canada-wide counselling designation similar to an RCC. Canadian Certified Counsellors are certified through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. The CCPA is a voluntary professional organization that provides guidelines and clinical standards.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGISTS

Clinical psychologists are healthcare professionals who specialize in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness, emotional disorders, and behavioral problems. A clinical psychologist’s toolkit includes standardized assessments, psychological tests, and psychotherapy. Registered Psychologist (R.Psych) is a designation that, in most cases, indicates a minimum of a doctoral degree in psychology. All TELUS Health Clinical psychologists are R.Psych designated.

DIETITIANS

Dietitians with TELUS Health MyCare are registered with the regulatory body in their province. They have at least a bachelors of science degree, and have completed rigorous on-the-job training.
